    摘要: A host device for a wireless network may be configured to implement at least two virtual access points for connecting client devices to the wireless network. A user virtual access point enables a client device to connect to the wireless network and transmit network traffic to other devices connected to the wireless network. In addition, a setup virtual access point provides an additional access point to connect to the wireless network when network credentials for the user virtual access point, such as a service set identifier (SSID) or a password, are changed by a user. When a client device cannot find the user virtual access point based on a stored SSID or password, the client device may be configured to automatically reconnect to the setup virtual access point to request a new SSID and network credentials for the user virtual access point.

    摘要: A low-noise, high-gain optical image amplifier includes a multi-mode pump source that injects optical energy into an active fiber's inner cladding to excite the dopant ions in a 2-D array of doped cores and provide gain. The cores are arranged to sample and collect light from an image incident on one end of the fiber, amplify the light and output an amplified pixilated image at the other end of the fiber. The multi-core active fiber preserves the spatial pattern and spectrum of the incident image. The cores may be configured as single-mode cores to preserve phase information or multi-mode cores to scramble the phase information. It is often desirable for the gain to be approximately uniform across the 2-D array. This can be achieved by pumping uniformly doped cores into their respective saturation regions.

    摘要: Magnetic alignment marks are recorded on a recording surface of a magnetic hard disk to mark the location where the disk is abutted against the hub of the spindle of a multiple-disk servo-writer. The alignment marks for each recording surface may be different so as to distinguish between top and bottom disk surfaces so that when the discs are assembled onto the spindle of a disk drive they may be assembled with the proper orientation, i.e., the top surface is mounted “up.” The marks may be large, low frequency patterns that are both written and detected by non contact means other than the servo-track writer's or the disk drive's heads.
