Abstract: A wireless network receives a registration from a wireless device. The network identifies an Extensible Mark-up Language Configuration Access Protocol (XCAP) service and establishes an XCAP bearer for the wireless device. The network receives an enabling instruction over the XCAP bearer to enable the mobile data service and establishes a mobile data bearer for the wireless device. The network exchanges user data with the wireless device over the mobile data bearer. The network automatically establishes the mobile data bearer for the wireless device responsive to subsequent registrations when the mobile data service is enabled. The network receives a disabling instruction over the XCAP bearer to disable the mobile data service for the wireless device. The network terminates the mobile data bearer for the wireless device and does not automatically establish the mobile data bearer for the wireless device responsive to subsequent registrations when the mobile data service is disabled.

Abstract: A Long Term Evolution (LTE) network receives a registration request from User Equipment (UE) and responsively identifies a mobile data Access Point Name (APN) and an Internet Multimedia Subsystem (IMS) APN for the UE. The LTE network establishes a mobile data bearer and an IMS bearer responsive to APNs. The LTE network receives a user instruction to disable the mobile data service for the UE and responsively releases the mobile data bearer and disables the mobile data APN for the UE. An IMS server system exchanges messages with the UE over the IMS bearer when the mobile data service is disabled. The LTE network receives a user instruction to enable the mobile data service for the UE and responsively enables the mobile data APN for the UE.

Abstract: Systems, methods, and software for handling traffic congestion messages in wireless communication systems are provided herein. In one example, method of operating a wireless communication system is provided. The method includes monitoring a traffic congestion message transferred by a radio access network of the wireless communication system for delivery to a congestion mitigation node responsive to user traffic congestion for a wireless communication device in the radio access network. The method includes identifying a destination network for the traffic congestion message. When the destination network indicates a congestion mitigation node not in the wireless communication system, the method includes withholding delivery of the traffic congestion message. When the destination network indicates a congestion mitigation node in the wireless communication system, the method includes allowing delivery of the traffic congestion message to the congestion mitigation node in the wireless communication system.

Abstract: Systems, methods, and software for correlating media types of emergency communication requests in wireless communication networks are provided herein. In one example, a method of operating a wireless communication system which routes communications between user devices and emergency service providers is provided. The method includes monitoring communication requests for emergency communication sessions between the user devices and service nodes of the emergency service providers to determine which media types of the communication requests are supported by the service nodes receiving the communication requests, identifying geographic locations of the user devices for the communication requests, identifying the service nodes receiving the communication requests, and creating a data structure correlating the geographic locations of the user devices and identifiers of the service nodes to the media types supported by the service nodes.
