Abstract: Systems and methods are described for assigning a profile to a wireless device in a communication network. Usage data associated with a wireless device may be received at a first access node. A first bearer profile may be assigned to a data transmission path. The usage data may be monitored for a set of criteria for a predetermined time period. A second bearer profile may be assigned to the data transmission path based on the usage data associated with the wireless device when the set of criteria is met. The wireless device may be detached from the communication network. The wireless device may be updated with the second bearer profile.

Abstract: In systems and methods of allocating root sequences to access nodes, a first coverage radius and a first neighbor list of a first access node are determined, wherein the first neighbor list comprises second access nodes which are each a neighbor access node of the first access node. A second coverage radius and a second neighbor list of each of the second access nodes is then determined. An access node comprising a largest coverage radius from among the first access node and the second access nodes is selected. A number of root sequences required for the selected access node is calculated based on the coverage radius of the selected access node, and root sequences are assigned to the selected access node according to the number of root sequences required.

Abstract: A customized paging area is created for a wireless device comprising a first access node and at least one second access node proximate to the first access node. A unique identifier is associated with the determined first access node and the determined at least one second access node of the customized paging area. When the wireless device communicates with a third access node which is not associated with the unique identifier, a second customized paging area is created for the wireless device comprising a third access node and at least one fourth access node proximate to the third access node. A second unique identifier is associated with the determined third access node and the determined at least one fourth access node of the customized paging area.

Abstract: Recovering bearers after a service interruption of a relay node includes receiving, at a relay gateway, an instruction to modify bearers from a mobility management entity (MME), the instruction identifying one or more bearers that were in use by the relay node prior to the service interruption, identifying, at the relay gateway, at least one additional bearer in use prior to the service interruption not identified in the instruction received from the MME, and instructing the MME to create the at least one additional bearer. The at least one additional bearer can include a non-GBR bearer, such as a bearer with QCI of 1 used for VoLTE.

The method includes receiving an indicator of an application type, or a bearer type, from a wireless device, determining a processing delay of a distributed antenna system, determining a priority of the received signal, and in response to the processing delay of the distributed antenna system meeting a first criteria and a quality of service indicator meeting a second criteria, directing the wireless device to an access node.
