    摘要： An axillary thermometer for measuring the temperature of a patient comprising a first disk-shaped member having a circumferential edge, and an upper portion and lower portion, that is integrally connected, and angularly situated, via a connecting member joint, to a second disk-shaped member having a top side and a bottom side. The top side of the second disk-shaped member, including an actuation switch and display, being proximate the upper portion of the first disk-shaped member such that viewing of the temperature display can be simultaneously accomplished with the temperature taking process. The first disk-shaped member further having at least one temperature sensor along its circumferential edge of the upper portion with the at least one temperature sensor being connected to at least one temperature sensing circuitry.

    摘要： Form retentive absorbent pads are disclosed which comprise fluid absorbent material and at least one bendable element which can be deformed by the user and which will retain its shape during use. The preferred embodiments, the bendable element provides at least a degree of conformation in the critical central area of the pad, most preferably at least in the longitudinal (y axis) direction. Conformability created in this area allows the user of the pad to mold the pad to the body to maximize comfort and fluid absorption. Preferred embodiments include bendable elements which form winglets which are bent around the edges of the undergarment to hold the pad in place during use.

    摘要： Absorbent products having integral belt means for retaining the absorbent product in a position to absorb body fluids are disclosed. In a preferred embodiment, a napkin is provided wherein straps are cut from the material of the napkin. These straps are then tied around the body of the user when the napkin is applied. The straps are flexible enough to allow them easily to be tied to each other on the side. The straps may or may not be retained by the waistband of an undergarment. Alternatively, a second embodiment is provided wherein long flap-like straps extend longitudinally away from the transverse ends of the absorbent product. These straps are then engaged by the elastic waistband on an undergarment, to retain the napkin in place. Methods of manufacturing absorbent products are also disclosed.

    摘要： A protective garment is provided with features which facilitate the donning thereof in accordance with current aseptic principles and which maintains a tight fit to preclude contamination during use and which is both comfortable and usable by a wide range of differently sized wearers. Specifically, a gown is folded in such a way as to present only inside surfaces to the assistant who aids the donner in donning the gown. Additionally, the gown is provided with cuffs and collar having stretch and recovery properties to aid in donning and front and back pleats to aid in donning as well as accommodating wearers of different size.
