    摘要: A structural phased array antenna and method for manufacturing are disclosed. An integrated structural antenna aperture can be used to reduce net weight, cost, and volume where an array of antenna elements are incorporated into a structural member, e.g. in a spacecraft. A structural material layer, such as a structural foam, may be used with the array of individual antenna element cavities machined into the layer. The antenna element cavities are lined with a conductive material, such as plated aluminum. Facesheets may be bonded to the front and/or backside of the structural material layer in order to increase strength and/or stiffness using an RF transparent material. The array of antenna elements may be coupled to filters at the back side of structural material layer.

    摘要: A structural phased array antenna and method for manufacturing are disclosed.     摘要: In one embodiment a method to form a load bearing antenna aperture comprises forming a honeycomb core structure having a plurality of wall sections, the wall sections including electromagnetic radiating elements, and wherein lower surfaces of the wall sections defines a first surface and upper surfaces of the wall sections define a second surface, positioning a back skin to the first surface of the honeycomb core structure with an adhesive layer which comprises a layer of adhesive film and a paste adhesive disposed on the layer of adhesive film.     摘要: A structural wideband multifunctional aperture and methods are presented. A ground plane grounds radio frequency (RF) and direct current (DC) electrical fields. A structural egg crate circuit board comprises a grid of circuit board planes coupled to the ground plane and perpendicular to the ground plane around open boxes. A signal feed-line is coupled to the structural egg crate circuit board and couple-able to a signal transmission line. A driven feed layer parallel to the ground plane is coupled to the signal feed-line and to a side of the structural egg crate circuit board opposite to the ground plane.

    摘要: A phased array antenna (PAA) is provided. The PAA includes a plurality of layers fabricated using an additive process such that the PAA conforms to a curvilinear surface. The plurality of layers include: a radiating layer placed on a first surface of a first dielectric layer; a feed layer operationally coupled to a second surface of the first dielectric layer; and a second dielectric layer having a first surface operationally coupled a power and control layer and a second surface operationally coupled to a ground layer. An adhesive layer operationally couples the feed layer to the power and control layer.
