    摘要: In a name service apparatus, a virtual resource management table has three sorts of fields, name, position and procedure. For a virtual resource, its name, position of an actual resource and name of procedure to handle the actual resource are held in correspondence to each other. On receiving inquiry request for name, a communication section requests a retrieval section of a name resolution section to carry out name resolution. The retrieval section retrieves the virtual image management table using the received name as a key. If the received name is a virtual resource, the position of the actual resource and the procedure name are obtained from the table and access to the virtual resource becomes possible.

    摘要: When the name of a resource is inputted to a given context holder, a name analysis unit analyzes the name and a name translation unit converts it into first or second resource implementation representations. A name resolution unit receives the first or second resource implementation representations from each context holder. When the result of conversion is of the second resource implementation representations, the name resolution unit outputs a resource name of a second series or string of resource elements included in the second resource implementation representations to its corresponding context holder. This operation is executed on a chain basis to solve the name. A resource implementation unit outputs a handle for the resource corresponding to the result of name resolution therefrom. A user can obtain access to a virtual resource corresponding to the input name by using the handle. Owing to the above construction, an apparatus for and a method of managing resources can be provided which is capable of embodying a high-flexible distributed system providing name spaces for performing local resource access every users, which reflect preference and intentions for an access method by each individual user.

    摘要: A resource management system, of the type wherein processes are applied to real resources, which are resources previously input into a computer system that performs information processing, to obtain new resources, includes a plurality of context maintaining units that respectively establish a correspondence with attributes. Each of the context maintaining units includes an attribute maintaining unit that stores in memory attributes of the respective context maintaining unit; a name analysis unit that performs name analysis on resource names using as input resource names given to the resources, to obtain name analysis results; and a name conversion unit that converts name analysis results from the name analysis unit into one of a first resource realization expression and a second resource realization expression. The system further includes a selection unit that creates second context search expressions used in searching at least one of the plurality of context maintaining units on the basis of expressions that have been previously input, using as input expressions used to select at least one of the plurality of context maintaining units; a context search unit that searches one of a context maintaining unit having attributes in accordance with first context search expressions obtained by the name conversion unit of the context maintaining unit and a context maintaining unit having attributes in accordance with second context search expressions created by the selection unit; and an extraction unit that outputs a context expression which includes information necessary to create a context maintaining unit equivalent to the context maintaining unit searched by the context search unit on the basis of the second context search expressions.

    摘要: An information processing apparatus which makes it possible for a user or a third party to easily or unconsciously apply arbitrary procedures and expand application functions in accessing resources. When a name is input, that name is analyzed by the name parser. The context input unit loads the context determined from the analysis results from the context holding unit. The name is converted into a set composed of a resource name and a procedure in accordance with the loaded context. The context may also be used recursively. The resource initiation unit connects the output of the procedure and the data input port of the data input/output unit, or the input of the procedure and the data output port of the data input/output unit, and causes the procedure to be executed when the data input/output unit accesses the resource.

    摘要: Disclosed herein is an access privilege transferring method for safely transmitting privilege information about each object between subjects (users) over an object space in which service objects are scattered. User information and secret information of clients are shared between the clients and servers. A client that transfers privilege information generates privilege information weakened in its own contents of privilege. Further, the client applies a one-way function or an encryption function to a bit string obtained by joining the generated privilege information and the secret information to each other, thereby generating protected privilege information with which a third party who does not know the secret information is not capable of tampering. Utilizing the protected privilege information makes it possible to safely transfer access privileges. Further, the server analyzes the protected privilege information by using the secret information to thereby make it possible to safely confirm whether a client that makes an object request is authorized.
