Abstract: A system for water immersion may include a shell comprising an interior wall defining a receptacle sized and shaped to hold water, the shell comprising a seat between a floor of the shell and an upper edge of the shell. The spa may include a therapeutic light assembly positioned in the interior wall of the shell and between the seat and the upper edge of the shell, the therapeutic light assembly comprising: a lens that allows the transmission of infrared light, a housing recessed in the interior wall of the shell; and at least one infrared LED positioned between the lens and the housing, wherein in use, the therapeutic light assembly is positioned below the water line during normal use.
