    摘要： A system and method for providing call mobility for a dual-mode phone between a cellular network and a home wireless network for a dual-mode phone having a cellular identity and a home identity, wherein the home identity is active when the dual-mode phone is in communication with the home wireless network. The system comprises a residential gateway to connect the home wireless network to a public network, and a VoIP service provider in communication with a mobile switching center on the cellular network and the public network. After placing or receiving a call, the dual-mode phone sends a signal to the residential gateway to initiate the movement of the call between the cellular network and the home wireless network while the call is ongoing.

When the first authorization response indicates that the request to access the first portion of the media content is authorized, a second authorization response that indicates that the request to access the first portion of the media content is authorized can be communicated to the mobile client.

    摘要： A multiplexing scheme creates multiplexed PPP packets and demultiplexes the multiplexed PPP packets to reduce packet overhead. A point to point protocol packet communication apparatus such as a suitably programmed processing device or other suitable structure includes a point to point protocol packet header compressor (600) (and/or decompressor) having an input that receives point to point packets (601), such as original UDP packets, and an output that outputs compressed PPP packets (602). The apparatus includes a PPP packet multiplexer (and/or demultiplexer) (603) operatively coupled to the output of the PPP packet header compressor (600), and operative to create a frame (604) containing at least: multiplexed PPP packets from the plurality of PPP packets (606, 608 and 610), PPP multiplexed identification data 614 and PPP packet delimitation data (612). To demultiplex the multiplexed PPP packets at a receiving end, a method and apparatus includes evaluating PPP packet delimitation data from the frame containing multiplexed PPP packets, PPP multiplexed identification data and PPP packet delimitation data; and demultiplexing the frame based on the PPP packet delimitation data to obtain separate PPP packets.

The communication system further allows the user to selectively transfer applications of the ensemble, such as transferring only the voice session from the voice terminal to another voice or voice/data terminal, and to copy an ensemble, or a portion of an ensemble, from a source terminal to a target terminal, wherein the ensemble or portion of the ensemble is not removed from the source terminal. The communication system further allows a user to suspend and resume an application ensemble.

The method comprises receiving a first invite message corresponding to an incoming call for dual mode communication device or the fixed communication device. The method further comprises determining whether the dual mode communication device and the fixed communication device are located within a predetermined area. When the dual mode communication device and the fixed communication device are located within a predetermined area, the method determines whether a simultaneous ringing feature is active. If the simultaneous ringing feature is active, both the dual mode communication device and the fixed communication device are allowed to join the incoming call simultaneously.

    摘要： To address the need for an apparatus and method for handoff from a cellular wireless network to a non-cellular wireless network (WLAN, e.g.), the present application describes an access gateway (214) and a dual mode mobile station (201) that enable such handoffs. The MS provides information to the access gateway so that it can initiate a handoff with the serving cellular MSC (251). By triggering handoffs in this manner, cellular networks need not have special information about non-cellular networks to support handoffs. Instead, dual mode MSs can determine when a handoff to a non-cellular network is preferred and request a handin (302) from the non-cellular network.
