摘要: The present invention provides a maintenance device which can suction ink in a short period of time and with a small amount of consumed ink. The maintenance device has a plurality of capping portions disposed so as to face a plurality of unit heads which can discharge liquid drops onto a recording medium; a plurality of small chambers communicating with the plurality of capping portions, respectively; a suction portion suctioning interiors of the small chambers; and a plurality of valve mechanisms independently controlling airtight states of the interiors of the small chambers. The present invention also provides a recording device equipped with this maintenance device.

摘要: A recording apparatus enabling printing with high image quality is to be provided. In a recording apparatus exerting recordation having a non-scanning recording head corresponding to the total width of the paper, a pressing member and a supporting member are disposed among plural recording head units, which are arranged in the width direction of the paper with a prescribed interval, and thus the paper continuously conveyed is pressed with the pressing member onto the supporting member, so as to uniformize the distance between the paper and the nozzle surface at the printing position. As a result, printing can be attained with high image quality on the paper continuously conveyed.

摘要: A recording apparatus contains a recording head having a liquid droplet ejecting surface and ejecting a liquid droplet to a recording medium, a maintenance device disposed at a position opposite to the liquid droplet ejecting surface of the recording head, and a conveying unit which conveys the recording medium between the recording head and the maintenance device. The maintenance device has a liquid housing unit which houses the liquid droplet from the recording head, and a cleaning unit which cleans the liquid droplet ejecting surface of the recording head.
