摘要： A light-beam deflecting apparatus is provided in which a polygon mirror is pushed against a flange to hold it stationary. The light-beam deflecting apparatus includes a base member; a polygon mirror rotatable with respect to the base member; a flange contacting the polygon mirror to hold the polygon mirror; and a pushing member to push the polygon mirror against the flange. One or both of contacting surfaces of the polygon mirror and the flange is/are finished to a surface roughness of Ry, which fulfills a first formula of Ry>3 &mgr;m or a second formula of 3 &mgr;m≦Ry≦20 &mgr;m.

摘要： A dynamic pressure generating bearing includes a rotational body, a radial bearing provided adjacent to a center of the rotational body to rotatably support the rotational body around the radial bearing and at least one thrust bearing provided on one end of the radial bearing. When the rotational body is stably rotated, a minimum clearance generated between the rotational body and the thrust bearing is always greater than a minimum clearance generated between the rotational body and the radial bearing.

摘要： Synthetic resins, particularly polyolefins, are markedly improved in their resistances to heat and oxidation by the incorporation of a 2-methyl-4-t-butyl-5-hydroxyphenylalkanoic acid ester alone or in combination with a thioether-type antioxidant represented by the general formula ##STR1## wherein R represents an alkyl group of 12 to 20 carbon atoms, or by the general formula ##STR2## wherein R represents an alkyl group of 4 to 20 carbon atoms.
