    摘要: A reflective optical encoder for a gear train. The reflective optical encoder includes a gear train with a plurality of gears. Each of the gears is operably coupled to at least one other gear of the plurality of gears. A reflective code pattern is accessible on a surface of at least one of the gears. A reflective optical sensor detects light reflected by the reflective code pattern. Position logic coupled to the optical sensor determines a rotational parameter of the gear train based on the light reflected by the reflective code pattern. Additionally, the position logic may determine rotational parameter of a pinion coupled to the gear train based on the rotational parameter of the gear train.

    摘要: According to one embodiment, there is provided an inductive multi-turn encoder which employs inductive means to determine the number of revolutions a central shaft operably connected to the module has turned. The inductive coils comprise emitter coils and receiver coils, which are operably associated with and opposed to corresponding geared circular disks, which in turn are arranged to implement a predetermined gear reduction ratio. The inductive multi-turn encoder is capable of operating under high temperature conditions and withstanding the effects of various environmental contaminants. The inductive multi-turn encoder disclosed herein is also amenable to miniaturization and low cost manufacturing.

    摘要: An optical encoder includes a code strip having a first side, a second side, a first track comprising indicia thereon, and a second track comprising indicia thereon. The code strip is moveable along a displacement path with respect to the optical encoder. A light source positioned on the first side of the code strip directs light toward the code strip. A first detector element is positioned on the second side of the code strip and is generally aligned with the first track of the code strip. A second detector element is positioned on the second side of the code strip and is generally aligned with the second track of the code strip. The second detector element is also positioned so that the second detector element is located a spaced distance along the displacement path from the first detector element.

    摘要: Various embodiments of harmonic gear multi-turn encoders are disclosed that provide the ability to accurately sense absolute rotational positions over a wide range of rotational counts. High gear reduction ratios in each stage of the multi-turn encoders permit very small size and volume encoders to be provided, thereby opening up many new applications for multi-turn encoders. In one embodiment, inductive means are employed to determine the number of revolutions a central shaft operably connected to an encoder module has turned. The inductive coils comprise emitter coils and receiver coils, which are operably associated with and opposed to corresponding encoder devices. The various embodiments of the harmonic gear multi-turn encoders disclosed herein are capable of operating under high temperature conditions and withstanding the effects of various environmental contaminants, and are also amenable to miniaturization and low cost manufacturing.

    摘要: An encoder module with an alignment system with an encoder device, a housing and a movable hub is presented. The encoder module may be integrated with an alignment system to facilitate a built-alignment feature for aligning an encoder device disposed within the encoder module. The encoder module may include a hub that may be movably arranged in the housing and rotatable about a central axis of rotation. The hub may be slidingly moved between a first position configured to set the encoder module to engage in a centering mode and a second position configured to set the encoder module to engage in a rotational mode. The encoder module may be configured to be slidingly disposed on a motor whereby a sleeve of the hub is configured to mate with a shaft of the motor by means of slide fitting.
