    摘要: Apparatus and method for concurrently determining steam flow rate and quality, through a conduit which comprises an orifice plate positioned in series with a critical flow venturi in said conduit. Pressure sensing means in the conduit senses pressures therein for application in a formula to provide the desired steam values and provide a method for determining both the quality and the mass flow rate of steam flow passing through the conduit. The measurements are of particular value in the instance of steam flow where a minimal decrease in steam pressure across the measuring instrument is a relevant factor.

    摘要: A packer (80) for establishing sealing engagement with a surface disposed in a wellbore includes a packer mandrel (90) and a seal assembly (100, 102, 104) slidably disposed about the packer mandrel (90). The seal assembly (100, 102, 104) has a running position and a radially expanded sealing position. A piston (122) is slidably disposed about the packer mandrel (90) and operably associated with the seal assembly (100, 102, 104). A release assembly 145 is disposed about the packer mandrel (90) and is releasably coupled to the piston (122) such that actuation of the release assembly (145) decouples the release assembly (145) from the piston (122) allowing the piston (122) to shift longitudinally relative to the packer mandrel (90) to operate the seal assembly (100, 102, 104) from the running position to the radially expanded sealing position, thereby setting the packer (80).

In embodiments, a thin client device senses a usage context for the thin client device, and a process analyses the usage context to automatically select a session for the thin client device to connect to. Embodiments also describe how the thin client can be automatically authorized to access a selected session, based on the usage context. In other embodiments, a thin client device comprises a sensing device that can indicate a usage context for the thin client. Embodiments describe how the sensing device can determine that the thin client device is located in a docking station, and identify the docking station.

    摘要: A medical aid that functions as (1) a standalone femur traction device for femur traction or (2) a trapezoidally-shaped cushioned leg support pillow. The medical aid can be placed on an ordinary bed and is constructed to provide traction without the use of weights or pulleys. The medical aid includes a base that supports a trapezoidally-shaped leg pillow or support and an adjustable U-shaped fulcrum coupled to the base. The U-shaped fulcrum supports thereon an elastic cord with an attached leg pin connector. Adjustment of the U-shaped fulcrum and/or the tension applied by the elastic cord varies the amount of traction. The trapezoidally-shaped cushioned leg support can be used with or without the base.

    摘要: A core blowing machine receives match plates on a mounting surface so that a sand and bonding agent mixture may be packed about the match plate and exposed to a catalytic gas for forming a mold component. A support surface is disposed beneath the mounting surface. An auxiliary assembly includes an auxiliary mounting surface and an auxiliary support surface in substantially the same spatial relationship as the mounting and support surfaces. A support jack is placed on the auxiliary support surface and is adjusted in length to extend between the auxiliary support surface and a match plate mounted in the auxiliary assembly. Then the suppot jack is placed in a position on the support surface which is similar to the position occupied on the auxiliary support surface and the matching plate is disposed on the mounting surface. Indicia are provided on both the auxiliary support surface and the support surface to aid in placing the support jack in the similar position on the latter surface.

    摘要: A two piece roller clamp is disclosed for regulating the fluid flow rate through plastic tubing by defining the size of the tubing lumen. The clamp includes a U-shaped body with a base and two side walls and a longitudinally movable roller mounted in tracks formed in the side walls. The roller is biased against a roller bearing surface running along the length of the base. Adjacent to the roller bearing surface is a tube compression slot having a lower wall uniformly spaced below the roller. A channel of varying cross-section is provided in the lower wall of the tube compression slot. The roller exerts a uniform, but minimal force on the tubing compressing it against the lower wall of the slot permitting the formation of a lumen defined by the contours of the channel. The slot is dimensioned vertically to provide for the minimal compression force by the roller and is dimensioned horizontally to confine the entire compressed cross-section of tubing without excess space thereby conforming the tubing to the contours of the channel to regulate the lumen size. A uniform compression force is maintained during longitudinal movement of the roller by the roller bearing surfaces which prevent perpendicular movement of the roller towards the slot.
