摘要: A process for the preparation of plexifilamentary film-fibril strands of polymer. The process includes the steps of generating a spin fluid containing (a) 5 to 30 wt. % containing one or more polymer types, (b) a primary spin agent selected from the group consisting of dichloromethane, cis-1,2-dichloroethylene and trans-1,2-dichloroethylene, and (c) a co-spin agent comprising 1H,6H-perfluorohexane or 1H-perfluorohexane or 1H-perfluoroheptane. The spin fluid is flash-spun at a pressure that is greater than the autogenous pressure of the spin fluid into a region of lower pressure to form plexifilamentary film-fibril strands of the polymer. The co-spin agent is present in the spin fluid in an amount sufficient to form an azeotrope-like composition with the primary spin agent in the presence of the one or more polymer types. The polymer may be selected from the group consisting of high density polyethylene, polypropylene, polybutene-1, polymethylpentene, polyvinylidene fluoride, poly (ethylene tetrafluoroethylene), and blends of the foregoing.

摘要: A method for producing a cellulose solution with a solvent from a cellulose suspension in the solvent and a volatile non-solvent, including the introduction of the suspension into an inlet of a thin-film treatment apparatus, application and distribution of the suspension in a film-like form on a housing casing, temperature-controlled using a heat exchanger, by sweeper elements rotating about a common axis in a process housing of the treatment apparatus, evaporation of volatile non-solvent so that the cellulose is dissolved, and output of the solution of cellulose from the treatment apparatus through an outlet, wherein at least a part of the sweeper elements cause the cellulose to be advanced in the direction of the outlet so that the discharge at the outlet is between 300 kg/h and 600 kg/h cellulose solution per m2 of the temperature-controlled surface of the housing casing.

摘要: A textile recycling method receives textile-waste-to-be-recycled, sorts the waste to isolate cellulose-containing articles from non-cellulose-containing articles, and re-sizes at least some of the cellulose-containing articles to create feedstock. The feedstock is processed in a cellulose solvent reactor, which has at least one ionic liquid. The ionic liquid dissolves intermolecular cellulose bonds of the feedstock to create a spinning dope. Cellulose fibers dissolved in the cellulose-bearing spinning dope solution are extruded in a cellulose coagulation bath reservoir to reconstitute at least some of the cellulose fibers, and the reconstituted fibers are wet-spun to form a continuous cellulose thread that is commercially indistinguishable from virgin fiber thread. Synthetic fiber material is vacuum-extracted or mechanically extracted from the cellulose-bearing solution and recycled into a continuous synthetic thread. Original color of textile-waste-to-be-recycled can be retained or removed, and new color can be added.
