摘要： A housing for a computer system includes a conduit operable to protect a communication medium, such as a cable, that couples a peripheral device of the system to processing circuitry of the system. The conduit includes a bottom, a sidewall and a top that together define a passage in which the communication medium may be disposed. The passage includes a first opening and a second opening for allowing the communication medium disposed in the passage to extend through the passage. By disposing all or section of the communication medium in the passage, the conduit reduces the coupler's exposure between the interface of the processing circuitry and a peripheral device coupled to the interface, and thus protects the communication medium and the interface.

The top may be moved relative to the body to open and close the storage compartment. With the storage compartment, one may securely and safely store a PDA, for example, that is coupled with a processor of a computer system.

With the positionable post, one may position the post to extend away from a bottom of the compartment to retain one or more discs in the storage compartment. Or one may recess the post to store other items, such as a camera and camera docking station, in the compartment. Thus, one can move the post out of the way when the compartment does not contain a storage disc, thus freeing up the compartment to better store other items.

摘要： An active thermal insulation system is disclosed. The system utilizes a cool air source or ambient air below a threshold temperature in conjunction with a phase change material and/or conventional insulation. In a controlled manner, the cooled air or ambient air facilitates the transition of the phase change material from a substantially liquid state to a substantially solid state allowing the solid phase change material to absorb heat. Cooled air or ambient air may be directed to the phase change material via a gap or plenum capable of introducing the cooled air or ambient air adjacent to the phase change material. A fan, blower or air intake device may be used to direct ambient air to the gap or plenum.

Thus, a housing of the computer system may support more peripheral devices.

摘要： A system and method for transferring a continuously advancing paper web from a dryer to a reel section is provided. The system includes a first fabric defining a first moving conveyor. The first fabric may be a permeable fabric, which is positioned downstream from the dryer. A second fabric, which may also be permeable and defines a second moving conveyor, is also included. The first moving conveyor overlaps the second moving conveyor for a predetermined distance, and the first and second moving conveyors are configured to receive the paper web between the conveyors. A vacuum device is rotatably disposed against the first moving conveyor, and the dryer and the vacuum device are disposed relative to each other to form an open draw. The vacuum device is configured to produce a vacuum to attract the web to the first fabric for transferring the advancing web into the predetermined distance where the first and second conveyors overlap.

摘要： An active thermal insulation system is disclosed. The system utilizes a cool air source in conjunction with a phase change material and/or conventional insulation. In a controlled manner, the cool air source facilitates the transition of the phase change material from a substantially liquid state to a substantially solid state allowing the solid phase change material to absorb heat. Cool air may be directed to the phase change material via a duct, plenum or other suitable passageway capable of introducing the cool air to the phase change material. A system outlet allows heat created during the phase change material's transition from a liquid state to a solid state to be exhausted to the atmosphere or elsewhere. The system is ideal for desert and other warm weather climates.
