Abstract: A pluggable module includes a pluggable body having an upper shell at the top and a lower shell at the bottom that define an interior chamber. The upper shell includes side walls extending to the top and an upper wall extending between the side walls. The upper shell includes an airflow channel and EMI prevention fins having EMI channels therebetween in flow communication with the airflow channel. The upper wall along the airflow channel is at a first depth from the top and the upper wall along the EMI channels is at a second depth deeper than the first depth.

Abstract: A communication system includes a receptacle assembly and a pluggable module. The receptacle assembly has a receptacle housing includes walls forming a module cavity with a communication connector at a back end thereof. The receptacle assembly has a liquid cooling assembly having a liquid cooling channel coupled to the receptacle housing and a fitting in flow communication with the liquid cooling channel. The pluggable module is receivable in the module cavity and has a pluggable body holding a module circuit board and a liquid cooling assembly coupled to the pluggable body. The liquid cooling assembly includes a liquid cooling channel in thermal communication with the pluggable body and a module fitting mated with the fitting of the receptacle assembly to couple the liquid cooling channel of the pluggable module in flow communication with the liquid cooling channel of the receptacle assembly.

Abstract: A dual heat transfer assembly includes upper and lower heat transfer elements received in a separator channel of a port separator of a receptacle cage. The upper heat transfer element includes an upper thermal interface extending into an upper module channel to interface with an upper pluggable module. The lower heat transfer element includes a lower thermal interface extending into a lower module channel of the receptacle cage to interface with a lower pluggable module. The heat transfer elements include inner ends located in the separator channel. The heat transfer elements include biasing members engaging the heat transfer elements and biasing the heat transfer elements into thermal engagement with the pluggable modules.

Abstract: A heat spreader includes a main body extending between a front and a rear configured to be mounted to a cage and heat transfer fingers cantilevered forward from the front of the main body. The heat transfer fingers each have a fixed end, a distal end, a top, a bottom and mating edges facing each other across gaps. The heat transfer fingers are configured to be received in corresponding channels between heat transfer fins of a pluggable module as the pluggable module is installed in the cage through the front end with the gaps receiving the heat transfer fins. The mating edges are configured to face and be thermally coupled to corresponding heat transfer fins. The heat transfer fingers transfer heat from the heat transfer fins rearward toward the distal ends and into the main body.

The airflow channel is configured to be in flow communication with the airflow opening in the circuit board for cooling the pluggable module in the module channel. The airflow channel has an airflow port at the front wall.
