Abstract: There is disclosed herein a cartridge for a continuous loop roll of motion picture film, such as Super 8 sound motion picture film. The cartridge includes top and bottom sections, and a turntable disposed between the sections for supporting a roll of film, such as 600 feet in length. One section of the cartridge includes a film guide channel for directing the inner convolution of film from the central portion of the roll to a film gate engaging portion of the cartridge for projection of the film which, after projection, is returned to the outer convolution of the roll. The film guide channel includes a plurality of molded projections which cause the film to be supported essentially solely by an edge thereof to prevent rubbing of either surface of the film thereby preventing abrading and scratching of the surfaces of the film.

Abstract: A folding mirror and screen assembly for use with projectors, viewers, or the like is disclosed which includes a mirror unit and screen pivotally mounted on a base means and a support arm pivotally connected to the mirror unit. Latch means are provided on the base means to latch the support arm in upright position when the assembly is in its viewing position. Means are also included to release the latch means so that the assembly may be folded into the closed position.

Abstract: There is disclosed herein a motion picture projector, such as a cartridge loaded projector, as a cartridge loaded projector, including a sound pickup assembly for picking up and reproducing sound recorded on the film. The sound pickup assembly includes a capstan for driving the film past a pickup transducer at an appropriate speed. A scraper assembly engages the capstan in such a manner that the edge of the scraper bears against the periphery of the capstan at all times. Not only does the scraper clean the capstan, but also the film is cleaned by the capstan.
