Abstract: A thermoelectric converter diode in which the thermal energy required for the heating of the ionisable fluid which fills the space between the emitter and the collector is taken from the collector by conduction and from the emitter by radiation. To this end the ionizable substance is stored in a block having a large surface-to-volume ratio, which block is supported by the collector within the diode.
