    Abstract: A plurality of projections in a transdermal administration device each include a columnar portion extending from a first surface of a substrate, and a tapered portion extending from a top of the columnar portion. A maximum angle of an apex of the tapered portion viewed in a direction parallel with the first surface is in a range of 10° or more and 30° or less, a ratio of a length from a proximal end to a distal end of the tapered portion to a length from a proximal end to a distal end of the projection as viewed in a direction perpendicular to the first surface is in a range of 0.45 or more and 0.75 or less, and a pitch (distance between centers of closest projections), viewed in a direction perpendicular to the first surface is in a range of 50 μm or more and 350 μm or less.

    Abstract: A microneedle unit includes a microneedle including a facing surface having at least one projection and a support surface opposite to the facing surface, a recessed container having a housing space between an opening and a bottom of the recessed container for housing the microneedle such that the microneedle has the facing surface facing outside of the recessed container through the opening, and an adhering structure having a first contact surface adhered to the bottom of the recessed container and a second contact surface adhered to the support surface of the microneedle. The recessed container is deformable such that the bottom is displaced in the pressing direction, that the at least one projection is displaced in the pressing direction on an outside of the housing space, and that a portion of the second contact surface positioned outside the support surface is pushed toward the outside of the housing space.

    Abstract: A method for producing an acicular body having a support base and an acicular protrusion on one surface of the support base includes supplying an acicular body-forming liquid, in which an acicular body-forming material is dissolved or dispersed in a solvent, to an intaglio plate having a recess corresponding to a protrusion, under a first pressure environment of not more than 0.05 MPa, changing the first pressure environment of the acicular body-forming liquid supplied to the intaglio plate to a second pressure environment of higher than 0.05 MPa, drying the acicular body-forming liquid supplied to the intaglio plate such that an acicular body is formed, and peeling the acicular body from the intaglio plate.

    Abstract: A microneedle includes a substrate, and projections which extend from a surface of the substrate. Each of the projections includes layers separated from each other in a direction in which the projection extends. The layers include a first layer which contains a polymer which is soluble in water and poorly soluble in oil and a second layer which contains a polymer that is soluble in oil. The first layer and the second layer are adjacent to each other and are formed in the order of the first layer and the second layer from the projection to the substrate.
