摘要： A saddle intended to be mounted on a single saddle post of a bicycle. The saddle includes a horizontally extending lower truss having usual structure for attaching the truss to the post of the bicycle, and an upper frame assembly supporting a resilient cover. The frame assembly is pivotally attached forwardly and resiliently attached rearwardly thereof to the lower truss and includes interposed leaf springs which act in conjunction with the resiliency of the cover to cushion the rider, i.e., the leaf springs contiguously engage the underneath surface of the cover, and the weight of the rider flexes both the leaf springs and the cover intermediate the length thereof.

摘要： A brace for supporting an elongated bicycle saddle or seat adjacent the rearward end thereof from a bicycle. The brace includes a pair of members which are attached adjacent the upper ends thereof to the saddle and adjacent the lower end thereof to a part of the bicycle. The members respectively have upper and lower portions that are substantially parallel with one another and the members have intermediate portions integrally interconnecting the upper and lower portions. The intermediate portions are disposed in crossed relationship and are fastened together with fastening means to provide a rigid and stable brace.

摘要： A method of making a bicycle seat including the steps of providing a rigid base; providing a top assembly having a toppiece of a lightweight flexible vinyl and having an edge portion around the periphery thereof, providing a continuous side formed of a vinyl substantially stiffer than said lightweight flexible vinyl, heat-sealing said continuous side to said lightweight flexible vinyl along said edge portion to establish a covering and securing said covering to said base by attaching said continuous side to said base. A bicycle seat having a rigid base, a top assembly having a toppiece of a lightweight flexible vinyl, a continuous side of a vinyl that is substantially stiffer than said lightweight flexible vinyl, said side being bonded to said top assembly and being attached to said rigid base.

摘要： A truss assembly for use to support a bicycle seat. The truss assembly includes a post, a bracket, an upper washer and a lower washer. The upper portion of the post extends through apertures in the washers and an elongated slot in the bracket, and the upper portion is provided with an enlarged head on the upper end thereof to hold said washers, said bracket and said post in a tight immovable relationship. The method of forming the truss includes cold working the upper portion of the post by applying a force thereto to spread the metal thereof laterally tightly against the lateral walls of the portions of said bracket defining said slot and to form an enlarged cold head on the upper end of said upper portion to tightly clamp and form an immovable assembly of said washers, said bracket and said post.
