    Abstract: To provide a versatile and easy-to-produce link plate that can mitigate the rise in surface pressure on guide members even when the link plate is slightly tilted, to minimize adverse effects of wear marks and wear particles, and a chain. The link plate has a sliding end face, with end face rounded portions at both ends in a direction of plate thickness, formed to be continuous with both side faces of the link plate. The link plate is shaped to satisfy 16.8≥((r*2/t2)+(t−r*2))/r≥11.5, where r represents a minimum radius of curvature of the end face rounded portions and “t” represents the plate thickness of the link plate.

    Abstract: To provide a chain that can reduce friction loss, alleviate wear on sliding surfaces of a chain guide member, and reduce vibration and noise of the running chain. The chain is made up of a multiplicity of inner link plates and outer link plates alternately coupled together by connecting pins along the longitudinal direction of the chain. The height from a pitch line to a highest point on a backside of the plurality of inner link plates (backside height of the inner link plates) is different from the height from a pitch line to a highest point on a backside of the plurality of outer link plates (backside height of the outer link plates) by more than 0 and not greater than 0.5 mm.

    Abstract: An object of the present invention is to provide a chain drive system capable of reducing sliding resistance between a chain and a guide shoe, suppressing an increase, over time, in sliding resistance, and reducing wear on the guide shoe. A chain drive system according to the present invention includes a chain having a plurality of chain plates, a plurality of sprockets on which the chain is wound, and one or more guides each including, integrally or separately, a guide shoe having a chain-running surface, and slidably guiding, in presence of lubricating oil, the chain.     Abstract: To provide a versatile and easy-to-produce link plate that can reduce frictional resistance and keep surface pressure low while maintaining a small height of a guide-side end surface, and can secure a tensile strength, and a chain. The guide-side end surface of the link plate is made up of a flat portion formed by a flat surface parallel to a line connecting centers of connection holes at leading and trailing ends, and both end surface portions on both ends in the chain longitudinal direction of the flat portion. The both end surface portions are formed to come closer to the line connecting the centers of the leading-end and trailing-end connection holes as the both end surface portions extend further from the flat portion.
