Abstract: A cutting insert 2 comprises a peripheral side surface 30 which is parallel to a central axis O of a first end surface 10 and a second end surface 20. The peripheral side surface 30 comprises a first side surface 31 facing a first major cutting edge 11, a second side surface 32 facing a first wiper edge 12, and a third side surface 33 facing a first inner edge 13. A flank 311 of the first major cutting edge 11 and a flank 321 of the first wiper edge 12 are inclined such that the flank 311 and 321 approaches the central axis O as it heads toward the first end surface 10. The flank 311 of the first major cutting edge 11 is located on a different plane from the first side surface 31. The flank 321 of the first wiper edge 12 is located on a different plane from the second side surface 32. Meanwhile, a flank of the first inner edge 13 is located on the same plane as the third side surface 33.

Abstract: There is provided a cutting insert which is capable of cutting by using either one of both surfaces and is stably supported by a tool body. Abstract: A polygonal cutting has opposing first and second end surfaces connected by a side surface, and a plurality of cutting edges formed between the end surfaces and the side surface. Each cutting edge is formed at corner and includes a corner cutting edge and a major cutting edge connected to the corner cutting edge. A rake surface formed along the cutting edge on first the end surface is inclined toward the second end surface. In a side view of the cutting insert, the major cutting edge includes an inclined part which is inclined so as to approach the second end surface from the corner cutting edge. A portion of the rake surface along the inclined part is formed such that an angle of inclination toward the second end surface increases toward the corner in a direction along the intersecting edge between the first end surface and the side surface.

Abstract: The present disclosure provides a cutting insert that is economical and can be stably fixed to a tool body. A first edge line (10R) of a cutting insert (2) is a rectangle having a first side (11) and a third side (13) as long sides and a second side (12) and a fourth side (14) as short sides. Cutting edges are formed at the first side (11), the second side (12) and the third side (13); on the other hand no cutting edge is formed at the fourth side (14). At a second edge line (20R) having the same shape as the first edge line (10R), a sixth side (22) where a cutting edge is formed is opposite to the fourth side (14), and an eighth side (24) where a cutting edge is not formed is opposite to the second side (12). A peripheral side surface (30) includes a fourth side surface (34) facing the fourth side (14) and the sixth side (22). The fourth side surface (34) extends from a first end surface (10) to a second end surface (20) and is inclined in a direction from the second side (12) to the fourth side (14).

Abstract: A cutting insert including a first end surface, a second end surface and a peripheral side surface extending therebetween. Abstract: The present invention relates to a tool body provided with at least one insert seat. The insert seat includes a bottom wall surface and a side wall surface.
