    摘要: A bearing device for supporting a rotating shaft substantially arranged in a vertical direction in a vertical rotation machine is disclosed. The bearing device enables the vertical rotation machine to operate in a stable and contamination-free condition by preventing leakage of lubricant as well as to decrease the lubricant consumption. The bearing device comprises a roller bearing for supporting the rotating shaft and a labyrinth seal provided below the bearing. An oil dam is provided at a bottom portion of a bearing chamber to surround the sealing. An oil suction pipe for discharging lubricant from the oil dam, a sealing gas supply passage for supplying sealing gas into the bearing chamber from below by way of the sealing, and a sealing gas vent port opening at an upper area of the bearing chamber are provided.

    摘要: A scavenge gear pump and its method of operation is described. The scavenge gear pump includes a pump housing defining a pump chamber, an inlet passage, an outlet passage, and a fluid injection passage in fluid communication with the pump chamber. The inlet passage receives an admixed fluid at low pressure and the outlet passage the admixed fluid at high pressure from a downstream region of said pump chamber. The fluid injection passage receives a third fluid at an injection pressure for input into the pump chamber. A pair of driveable gears is disposed in the pump chamber. The third fluid is injected directly into the gear meshing area of the pump chamber through the fluid injection passage so that the third fluid fills voids at least between said intermeshing teeth of the driveable gears and so that the second fluid does not occupy the gear meshing area.

    摘要: A scavenge gear pump and its method of operation is described. The scavenge gear pump defines a pump chamber in which a pair of toothed gears are rotatably driven to pump an oil-air mixture from an inlet passage where the oil mixture is at low pressure, to an outlet passage where the air and oil has separated and is at high pressure. The gears are intermeshed in a meshing area between the inlet and the outlet passages and an oil nozzle is provided in a downstream region disposed in relation to the gear meshing area to inject oil under pressure in that area to occupy the volumes between the intermeshed gear teeth whereby to prevent air bubbles from being carried back to an upstream region adjacent the inlet passage. Accordingly, the volumetric efficiency of the pump is improved and it is more tolerant to back pressure.

    摘要: An integrated roller bearing and fluid transfer sleeve adapted for supporting and transferring fluid to a rotating shaft in a gas turbine engine reduction gearbox. The integrated roller bearing and fluid transfer sleeve comprises a fluid transfer sleeve having a sleeve casing defining therein an annular fluid plenum open radially outwardly, and at least two spaced apart roller bearing assemblies each comprising an annular outer race integral with the sleeve casing and each assembly comprising a plurality of roller elements supported by the outer race. Each roller bearing assembly is disposed within the sleeve casing, one at each opposing end thereof, and the plurality of roller elements in each assembly define a first inner diameter substantially equal to an outer diameter of the rotating shaft adapted to be supported by the roller elements. The sleeve casing has an inner circumferential, axially extending surface, between the roller bearing assemblies, and defining a second inner diameter greater than the first inner diameter, such that an annular fluid leakage clearance can be formed between said inner circumferential surface of the sleeve casing and an outer circumferential surface of the rotating shaft. A plurality of apertures are defined in the sleeve casing to permit fluid flow from the annular fluid plenum to the fluid leakage clearance, whereby fluid, in the fluid leakage clearance is transferable to the roller elements and the rotating shaft.
