    摘要: The present invention relates to a plasma display panel in which a plurality of row electrodes are arranged to be crossed with a plurality of column electrodes in a plurality of cells, and one row electrode is concerned in the electric discharge of two adjacent cell groups and a driving method thereof. The row electrode has a transparent electrode with a plurality of projecting electrode parts which are alternately projected upward and downward with a predetermined width along the row axis and an opaque electrode formed at the lower part of the row axis of the transparent electrode. The column electrode is arranged on the column axis of the projecting electrode part and the row electrode concerns the discharge of two adjacent column-direction cell groups by the interaction with two other row electrodes adjacent in a column direction.

    摘要: A plasma display panel and a method and apparatus for driving the same that are capable of preventing miss-writing and improving discharge and light-emission efficiencies. In the panel, an upper substrate and a lower substrate are opposed to each other with having a plurality of discharge cells therebetween. A first upper electrode group includes at least one electrode having a desired width and is formed on the upper substrate. A second upper electrode group includes at least one electrode having a different width from the first upper electrode group and is formed on the upper substrate in such a manner to be adjacent to the first upper electrode group. A data electrode is provided on the lower substrate in such a manner to be perpendicular to the first and second upper electrode group. In the method and apparatus, a short-path discharge occurs between two electrodes spaced at a small distance from each other, of electrodes included in the first and second upper electrode groups. A long-path discharge occurs between the two electrodes spaced at a larger distance than said distance between the electrodes causing the short-path discharge of said electrodes included in the first and second upper electrode groups.

    摘要: An improved PDP electrode is disclosed. The PDP electrode according to the present invention includes a metallic electrode provided with an end portion width in the non-effective potion of a screen greater than an electrode width in the effective portion, wherein a PDP(Plasma Display Panel) includes a substrate formed of a screen effective portion and non-effective portion, a transparent electrode and metallic electrode arranged in an effective portion of the substrate and each having a certain width in the effective portion, and an electrode having one end extended toward a pad portion of the non-effective portion, for thereby selectively increasing the width of a metallic electrode in a range which does not affect the transmittance, so that it is possible to implement a quick and reliable disconnection and short-circuit checking operation for a metallic electrode which is generally designed to have a minimum line width for a transmittance of a visual ray.
