摘要： A fixing device is configured to be detachably attached to an image forming device main body. The fixing device includes a fixing member, a heating source, a pressing member, a conveyance guide member, an exterior member, a relay substrate, and a substrate covering member. The fixing member is configured to heat a toner image so as to fix the toner image on a recording medium. The heating source is configured to heat the fixing member. The pressing member is configured to press against the fixing member to form a nip part. The conveyance guide member is configured to guide the recording medium to the nip part. The exterior member houses at least the fixing member and the pressing member. The substrate covering member covers the relay substrate. The substrate covering member extends from and is integrated with the conveyance guide member.

摘要： A fixing device includes a fixing rotator, a pressure rotator, a cleaner, a moving assembly, and a temperature detector. The fixing rotator heats and fixes a toner image onto a recording medium. The pressure rotator presses against the fixing rotator. The cleaner contacts and cleans a cleaning target, which includes one of the fixing rotator and the pressure rotator. The moving assembly moves the cleaner between a contact position where the cleaner contacts the cleaning target and a separate position where the cleaner is apart from the cleaning target. The temperature detector detects a temperature of one of the cleaner and the cleaning target. The moving assembly moves the cleaner from the contact position to the separate position or from the separate position to the contact position during rotation of the cleaning target, in a case in which the temperature detected is greater than a given value

摘要： According to an embodiment, provided is a fixing device that includes: a rotatable fixing member that heats a recording medium on a side carrying an unfixed image; a rotatable pressing member that is pressed and is contacted with the fixing member to form a nip portion between the pressing member and the fixing member; a heat source heating the fixing member; a relay switch provided in an energizing path for the heat source; a temperature detection sensor detecting a temperature of the fixing member; and a control unit that controls energization of the heat source according to the temperature detected by the temperature detection sensor. The control unit keeps the relay switch in an off state if the temperature of the fixing member is equal to or more than a predetermined temperature when the fixing member has stopped rotation.

摘要： An image forming apparatus includes a fixing device to fix a toner image onto a recording medium, a voltmeter to measure an input voltage from an external source, and a controller operatively connected to the fixing device and the voltmeter. The fixing device includes an endless, fixing rotator formed into a loop, a heater to heat the fixing rotator, a pressure pad disposed inside the loop, and a pressure rotator disposed opposite the pressure pad via the fixing rotator to press the fixing rotator against the pressure pad to form a fixing nip between the fixing rotator and the pressure rotator, through which the recording medium bearing the toner image is conveyed. The controller controls a heating operation of the heater and a fixing operation of the fixing device to fix the toner image onto the recording medium, based on the input voltage measured by the voltmeter.

摘要： A nip-forming member includes: a first nip-forming member configured to be a main body of the nip-forming member; and a second nip-forming member disposed on a surface of the first nip-forming member, the surface facing the inner circumferential surface, the second nip-forming member extending in a direction orthogonal to a rotating direction of the fixing belt. Both ends of the second nip-forming member on an upstream side and a downstream side of the rotating direction are bent in a direction away from the nipping part, in order to create a pair of side-wall portions, so that the second nip-forming member has a concave cross-section for accommodating the first nip-forming member. The second nip-forming member has a restraining portion at a position located on the side-wall portion created on the upstream side, the restraining portion being configured to restrain the first nip-forming member not to be detached from the concave cross-section.
