摘要： Image forming apparatus (100) creates a toner pattern on intermediate transfer belt (11) as a preprocessing of gradation correction, and calculates a cycle at which density unevenness is largest. Then, a toner image for gradation correction is formed so as to cancel cyclic unevenness at a cycle at which the largest density unevenness occurs. As a result of this, it becomes possible to suppress the deterioration of density detection accuracy and perform a highly accurate gradation correction even if density unevenness of any cycle occurs.

摘要： Provided are an image forming apparatus and an image forming method capable of easily forming an output image having desired gradation characteristics and capable of reducing running cost. In an intermediate transfer-type image forming apparatus, an image forming section is configured by including a first image forming section which forms a color toner image on a photoconductor, and a second image forming section which is located on the upstream side of the first image forming section and forms a transparent toner image on the photoconductor. Further, after the transparent toner image is formed on an intermediate transfer member by the second image forming section, the first image forming section forms, on the basis of image data (correction gradation values) corrected by a gradation correcting section, a color toner image so that the color toner image is superimposed on the transparent toner image.

摘要： An image forming apparatus including: an image forming unit including an image carrier for carrying a toner image to be transferred onto a sheet and a correcting toner image to be used for adjusting a density of the toner image, a detection sensor for detecting density information of the correcting toner image formed in a non-image area by the image forming unit, and a controller for causing the image forming unit to correct an image forming condition based on the density information to execute a stabilization control, wherein, when receiving at least one information of interruption information, mode switching information and job switching information during execution of the stabilization control, the controller causes the image forming unit continuously form non-formed residual correcting toner images different in density on the image carrier before finishing a processing operation in the stabilization control under execution.

摘要： An image forming apparatus may include a sensor which detects a density of a patch image formed on an image carrier; an image quality control section which controls an image forming condition based on a detection value of the sensor; and a judging section which judges if the detection value has a tendency of increasing or decreasing, or not, wherein, the image quality control section compensates the image forming condition with a first compensating amount in case when the detection value does not have the tendency of increasing nor decreasing, and compensates the image forming condition with a second compensating amount of which absolute value is larger than an absolute value of the first compensating amount corresponding to the second compensating amount, in case when the detection value has the tendency of increasing or decreasing.

摘要： An image forming apparatus may include an image carrier for carrying a toner image and a correcting toner image, a detection sensor for detecting density information of the correcting toner image; and a controller for causing the image forming unit to correct an image forming condition based on the density information detected by the detection unit to execute a stabilization control. The image forming unit may form a plurality of correcting toner images different in density over plural non-image areas. The controller may determine which mode is set between a processing speed priority mode and an image quality priority mode. The image forming unit may continuously form correcting toner images on the image carrier in a different manner depending on the mode. The detection sensor may detect density information of the correcting toner images. The image forming unit may finish a processing operation in the stabilization control under execution.
