摘要： The present invention relates to a method of estimating a halftone image in which a plurality of scanning unit areas including, at least, a unit area of (1 pixel.times.1 pixel) are set in a binary image consisting of white and black regions; a binary image obtained from estimated values based on a ratio between white and black regions within the scanning unit area; an estimated value of an optimum scanning unit area is obtained per every pixel of the halftone image is produced based on the estimated value; and further the estimated halftone image is reconverted to a binary image after processing of enlarging or reducing.

摘要： The present invention is to provide an image processing apparatus having structure for forming a halftone image in such manner that, on a multicoded image consisting of regions differing in density formed by multicoding by using a prescribed threshold value matrix, a plurality of differing scanning unit areas are brought each to the multicoded image for each pixel in a successive manner so as to obtain values based on the ratios between the regions differing in density of the multicoded image within the unit areas, then density patterns are obtained from the above value by using the threshold value matrix, and then the halftone image is made by comparing the density patterns with the multicoded image within the unit areas, and the image processing apparatus further has structure for making the position of the threshold value matrix used for obtaining the multicoded image coincide with the position of the threshold value matrix used for obtaining the density pattern.

摘要： An image processing method and apparatus for detecting at least one region designated by at least one line of at least one closed loop on an original, wherein the original is scanned and an image formation is generated; the image information is processed for generating image data and region data which represent said at least one designated region; and the region data is processed for each scanning line. The processing of the region data comprises detecting a right end margin and a left end margin of the designated region for generating a marginal signal for the present scanning line corresponding to an interval from the right end margin to the left end margin; detecting a portion of the marginal signal continuous to a region signal for a preceding scanning line to generate a provisional region signal; detecting a portion of the provisional region signal which indicates an outside of the designated region for the present scanning line for generating an outside region signal for the present scanning line; detecting a region-designating signal for the present scanning line which is not continuous to the region signal for the preceding scanning line to generate a new region-designating signal for the present scanning line; and adding the new region-designating signal to, and for subtracting the outside region signal from, the provisional region signal to generate a region signal for the present scanning line.

摘要： According to a method and apparatus for estimating a halftone image, a unit area is set and shifted by a focusing lens and a photoelectric transducer in a binary image consisting of black and white regions, and the halftone image is estimated on the basis of a ratio of the white regions to the black regions within each unit area. The number of white pixels is counted by an A/D converter. When different unit areas are used, a specific one satisfying predetermined conditions is selected and shifted in the binary image, and prestored image data is read out from RAMs by column and row address generators and calculated to obtain a halftone estimated value within each unit area. The binary image can be thus a Bayer dither image or a digital binary image.
