Each of the transporting members carries a recording medium. The loading apparatus also includes a movement mechanism having a driving source, a first driving unit to which driving power from the driving source is perpetually transmitted, and a second driving unit for selectively transmitting the driving power from the first driving unit to the transporting members for moving one of the transporting members between the protruded position and the position within the main body portion. The loading apparatus selectively transports one of the transporting members.

摘要： A chucking pulley clamps and chucks a recording medium in coaction with a disk table. The chucking pulley has a rotary slide knob and is rotatably supported on a support arm. The support arm has first and second lifting/lowering pins. A holder is mounted on the support arm for pressing the chucking pulley toward the disk table while in contact with an end of the rotary slide knob when the recording medium is in rotation. A spring is resiliently held against the first lifting/lowering pins. Moving members move the chucking pulley toward and away from the disk table. The moving members have retainers for retaining the first lifting/lowering pins in an acting position when the recording medium is chucked. The first lifting/lowering pins retained in the acting position deform the spring to bias the support arm and the holder toward the disk table.

A transport device selects one of the disc cartridges held by the disc stocker and transports the selected disc cartridge to a recording and/or reproducing unit. The transport device thrusts toward the inside of the disc stocker to initiate the operation of selecting one of the disc cartridges and transporting the selected disc cartridge to the recording and/or reproducing unit. The transport device includes a movably supported movement member and an endless driving belt having a portion lying along a path of movement of the movement member. The endless belt is placed around and fed by a driving pulley member. A follower pulley member is arranged on the movement member and carries the endless driving belt placed therearound. A profiling member is movably mounted on the movement member and moved by rotation of the follower pulley member. A cam member arranged along a path of movement of the movement member limits movement of the profiling member relative to the movement member.

As the feed screw is rotated, the sliding member moves the optical pickup radially on the optical disc, and when the optical pickup has arrived at a position at the lead-in side of the optical disc, the sliding member is further slid against the force of the coil spring to move the shutter and mask the objective lens.
