In the computer system, one of plural computer PCBAs that do not install a hard disk device therein is selected from the terminal device, remotely controllable environments are constituted, and data is read and written from the hard disk device which are coupled to all of the computer PCBAs over a network that is used by the user.

摘要： The service provider stores a program to use a service and license information in a memory card including an IC card chip, a flash memory, and an interface controller. According to the license information, the user can select a specification of a server PC on the service provider side and uses a server PC, which is maintained by the service provider, by use of the memory card through remote operation. 摘要： A device management system is provided which is used in a client/server architecture system, enabling safe sharing of a device without compromising user convenience. In a case where the device which is connected to a client is accessed from a server, in order that the device connected to the client can be used from the server by merely connecting the device to the client without performing another operation, a filter is provided on the client side, and a pseudo bus driver is provided on the server side. The filter in the client exclusively controls client operations to the device and server operations to the device. The pseudo bus driver virtually functions as a device driver between a communication unit for the client and the application in the server.
