摘要： Methods and pharmaceutical compositions for reducing number of gout flares experienced by a patient are disclosed. The methods can comprise administering to a patient with hyperuricemia an effective amount of a xanthine oxidase inhibitor in a modified release dosage form once daily or in an immediate release dosage form two or more times daily to prevent at least one gout flare or reduce the number of gout flares experienced by the patient.
