    摘要: A cleaning method is provided for electrostatic copying apparatus of the transfer type in which a polarizable magnetic toner is used as a developer to remove residual toner from the surface of a photoconductive member after the transfer of toner images. The method comprises the steps of charging the toner remaining on the surface of the photoconductive member to the same polarity as the charge for sensitizing the surface of the photoconductive member after the transfer of a toner image, uniformly exposing the photoconductive surface simultaneously with or after the charging step, and thereafter removing the residual toner from the photoconductive surface by magnetic attraction.

    摘要: An electrophotograhic copying process forms an electrostatic latent image on the surface of a photosensitive member, developes the image by applying a monocomponent developer to the latent image to form a toner image, transfers the thus formed toner image by contacting a receptor sheet with the photosensitive member to transfer the toner image to the surface of the receptor sheet, fixes the toner image onto the surface of the receptor sheet, eliminates electrostatic charge from the photosensitive member by irradiating the surface of the photosensitive member with an electrostatic eliminating lamp after the toner image has been transferred to the receptor sheet, and cleans the surface of the photosensitive member by removing the developer remaining on the surface thereof. A developer-holding member holds the same kind of developer as used in the developing step on the surface of said developer-holding member by a stationary magnet disposed within the developer-holding member, and the surface of the developer-holding member is moved in a direction opposite to the direction of movement of the surface of the photosensitive member while contacting the two surfaces through the layer of the developer to mechanically brush the surface of the photosensitive member by the layer of the developer. The magnet having a plurality of poles, and the magnetic pole which is located closest to a position at which the surface of the developer-holding member is closest to the surface of the photosensitive member is downstream in the rotation direction of the developer-holding member by a certain angle with respect to the position at which the two surfaces are closest to each other.

    摘要: An electrostatic copying apparatus has a housing having at its top surface a transparent plate on which to place an original to be copied, a rotary drum disposed within the housing and having a photosensitive member on its surface, a charging, a developing, a transferring and a cleaning mechanism which are successively arranged around the rotary drum in the moving direction of its surface, an optical system for projecting the image of the original onto the surface of the rotary drum between the charging means and the developing means, and a receptor sheet conveying system for transferring a receptor sheet through a transfer station defined between the surface of the rotary drum and the transferring mechanism. A support is mounted on the housing so that it is slidable in the forward and rearward directions between its operating position within the housing and its pulled-out position ahead of the housing, and the rotary drum and the developing device are mounted on the support so that they can be separately and independently detached from the support. An electrostatic copying process can be efficiently practiced by using this apparatus.

    摘要: Improvements are provided in and relating to an electrostatic copying apparatus including a housing, a support for supporting an original to be copied, the support being mounted on the housing and having a transparent plate for supporting the original thereon and a holding member for covering the original on the transparent plate, a system for forming a copied image disposed within the housing and having an optical system for projecting the image of the original on the transparent plate, and a system for transferring a copying paper synchronously with the scanning of the original which is effected by the relative movement of the original holder and the optical system. The improvements include an improvement in the control of the cutting of the copying paper where the copying paper-transferring system includes a system for supplying a roll of copying paper; an improvement in a device for starting the supply of copying paper synchronously with the scanning of the image of the original; an improvement in a device for supplying the roll of copying paper in the copying paper-transferring system; and an improvement in a device for supplying a copying paper in sheet form in the copying paper-transferring system.

The drum unit including the drum unit frame is provisionally placed on the provisional unit placing means, and then in the required manner, mounted detachably on the upper supporting frame.

    摘要: A copying apparatus of the type in which an original-support device is mounted reciprocably on a housing through a sliding mechanism. The sliding mechanism is comprised of an outside rail fixed to one of the original-support device and the housing, an inside rail fixed to the other of said original-support device and housing, and disposed between the outside and inside rails, a holding plate rotatably holding a plurality of balls which contact both of the outside and inside rails. Each of the opposite ends of one of the outside and inside rails has disposed thereat a stop face against which each of the opposite ends of the holding plate can abut, and one end portion of the other of said outside and inside rails has disposed thereat a stop face against which one end of the holding plate can abut. A stop member defining a stop face against which the other end of the holding plate can abut is detachably disposed at the other end portion of the other of said outside and inside rails.An original-holding mechanism for an original-support device is also disclosed which includes a flexible holding member for covering an original document placed on a transparent plate and rigid supporting member located outwardly of the original-holding member. One end edge portion of the original-holding member is mounted adjacent to one end edge of the transparent plate. The base portion of the supporting member is mounted for pivotal movement about an axis extending along said one edge of the transparent plate as a center. The free end edge portion of the original-holding member is connected to the free end portion of the supporting member for movement over a predetermined range in a direction perpendicular to said axis.
