    摘要: In an optical recording medium including a grooved light-transparent substrate, a phase change recording layer, a dielectric layer and a reflective layer, recording is carried out by irradiating a laser beam to the recording layer through an objective lens in an optical system. The recording is carried out in a groove recording mode under the conditions: 0.48≦PT/(λ/NA)≦0.74, and PT≦0.50 μm wherein λ is a laser beam wavelength, NA is an objective lens numerical aperture, and PT is a track pitch, thereby forming a recorded mark having opposite ends extending out of the groove. This enables high density recording and increases the data transfer rate of a phase change optical recording medium.

    摘要: In an optical recording medium wherein grooves or lands formed on the supporting substrate are used for the recording tracks, and wherein prepits are also formed, production of the supporting substrate and high density recording are facilitated. This medium comprises a supporting substrate and a recording layer on the substrate wherein the surface of the supporting substrate on which the recording layer is formed is formed with alternating continuous convex portions and continuous concave portions which are substantially parallel to each other. The adjacent continuous convex portions are connected by bridging convex portions extending in transverse direction, and the bridging convex portion has a planar configuration that its width is minimum at or near the center between the adjacent continuous convex portions. The supporting substrate is produced by using a master disk which has a resist layer formed with mother patterns of each of the continuous convex portions, continuous concave portions, and prepits. In the production of the master disk, the resist layer is intermittently irradiated with one exposure beam, and the area irradiated is used as the mother pattern of the continuous concave portions or convex portions, and the area which was not irradiated is used as the mother pattern of the prepits.

    摘要: An optical recording medium is provided which includes two or more information layers in which an Sb-based eutectic material is used as the material for a recording film of a translucent information layer. There is also provided a recording film material for the optical recording medium. The translucent information layer is configured to include a recording film formed of a phase change material SbxGeyInz containing Sb, Ge, and In in an atomic ratio of x:y:z, where 5≦y≦15 and 4≦z≦15 are satisfied. The recording film further includes Te in an atomic ratio of a, provided that x+y+z+a=100 and 4≦a≦15 are satisfied. An interface layer formed of a ZrO2—Cr2O3 film having a thickness of 2 nm or more and 10 nm or less is provided on the laser beam incident side of the recording film. When the compositional ratio of the ZrO2—Cr2O3 film is given by ZrO2:Cr2O3=B:C (mol %), 20≦B≦90, 10≦C≦80, and B+C=100 are satisfied.

    摘要: A next-generation optical recording medium has two or more information layers which include a translucent information layer. The translucent information layer has a recording film and an interface layer, provided adjacent to the recording film on the side of the light incident surface.     摘要: A method for recording/reproducing an optical recording medium of phase change type is provided. The method enables a high density recording while increase in the cross erase is suppressed.     摘要: An optical recording medium of phase change type, and in particular, a dual side medium prepared by adhering two single side media is provided. In this medium, deformation of record marks generated in the overwriting due to difference in light absorption between the record marks and the region other than the record marks is prevented by providing a reflective layer of high light transmission, and increase in jitter and failure of track servo and focus servo caused by uneven coating of the adhesive layer and the resin protective layer are prevented. The optical recording medium comprises a substrate, a recording layer of phase change type on the surface side of the substrate, and a reflective layer and a light absorption layer disposed in this order on the surface side of the recording layer. The light absorption layer has a light transmission of 85% or higher in wavelength range S (wavelength in the range of 400 to 450 nm), up to 55% at the recording/reproducing wavelength, and 80% or higher in wavelength range L (wavelength in the range of 800 to 830 nm).
