Abstract: A system and method for simulating a structure is disclosed. An adjustable interior mockup for simulating a structure has a base with a first elongated side and a second elongated side, the first elongated side being nonadjacent the second elongated side; and an adjustable frame secured to the base. The adjustable frame includes a plurality of girder members secured along the first and second elongated sides to form an arc; a plurality of brackets; a plurality of arms having a latch attached to one end; and a sheet of fabric. The girders are securely fastened along the first elongated side of the base at predetermined intervals; the brackets are secured to the girders; the arms are received by the brackets and adjustably anchored to the girders via a fastener; and the latches engage the sheet of fabric, thus pulling the fabric into a shape that resembles the structure.

Abstract: A seat system with a seat back element including a vertical support disposed in a seat back interior region, and one or more first connector portions attached to the vertical support and aligned in a first direction, and a seat back panel having one or more second connector portions attached to an interior surface and configured to connect to the one or more first connector portions. The seat back panel has a first sidewall disposed at a first side and further has a second sidewall disposed on at a second side opposite the first side. The seat back panel has an upper wall portion forming a contiguous first surface with the first sidewall and second sidewall. The second connector portions connect to the first connector portions and attach the seat back panel to the seat back element.

Abstract: An adaptable skylight includes a frame facing an interior of an enclosure having an opening for allowing light to pass. An opacity-control pane adjacent the opening allows a variable amount of light to pass, and an artificial light source illuminates the frame. An aircraft skylight assembly includes a variable pane, an artificial light source for illuminating portions of the skylight assembly, and a controller configured for adjusting an amount of external light transmission through the variable pane and an amount of artificial light illumination. An internal ambiance lighting system includes the adaptable skylight having a dimmable pane for providing transmission of a variable amount of external light into an enclosure, the artificial light illuminates the frame surrounding the adaptable skylight, and the controller automatically adjusts external light transmission through the adaptable skylight and illumination of the frame based on a lighting preference.
