The vaccine compositions include a recombinant outer membrane protein of M. haemolytica designated PlpE and/or subunits thereof, alone or in combination with other antigenic components, and a carrier or diluent. The methods involve administering an effective immunizing amount of the vaccines to susceptible bovine.
