摘要: A pharmaceutical dosage form composition is composed of an ethylcellulose that has an ethoxyl range lower limit of 49.6%, an a viscosity of less than 53 cps and at least one active pharmaceutical ingredient. This dosage form is highly compressible and compactible forming harder tables or pellets with better release retardation than comparable prior art tablets.

摘要: A femoral implant for a hip prosthesis includes a shaft oriented in a longitudinal direction and a neck extending from said shaft at an acute angle .theta. to the longitudinal direction. The implant includes a plurality of layers of fibers in a matrix, wherein the fibers are substantially unidirectional in each respective layer. The implant is made from a stack of layers of the matrix so that the direction of fibers is unbalanced. At least 50% of the fibers are oriented in the .theta. direction and the remainder of said fibers are oriented in directions other than the .theta. angle.

摘要: Disclosed is an improvement in a femoral implant for a hip prosthesis involving a longitudinal shaft having a neck extending therefrom at an acute angle .theta. to the longitudinal direction made of layers of carbon fiber in a polymeric matrix, each layer containing unidirectional fibers and the layers arranged such that carbon fibers are oriented in the longitudinal direction and the .+-..theta. direction. The improvement involves balancing at least 50% of the layers in the .+-..theta. direction.
