Abstract:
Pigment composition comprising an organic pigment and a combination of at least two normally water-soluble coloured compounds (dyes) of opposing charge, i.e. of at least one anionic and one cationic dye are provided. The compositions impart improved rheology on non-aqueous pigment based printing inks and paints.
Abstract:
The invention pertains to a novel, simpler dry-milling method for comminuting crude pigments (especially crude phthalocyanines) for use in offset inks, wherein a high amount of resin is used, at least part of which is a low molecular phenol-modified rosin, an esterified rosin or a hydrocarbon resin of similar properties, preferably together with an antioxidant, and dry-milling is performed at relatively low temperature. The invention also pertains to the thus obtained, new compositions, which are extraordinarily easily dispersible in hydrocarbon solvents, and their use for the preparation of inks or ink concentrates. Pigment dispersions obtained from the preferred compositions are also claimed.
Abstract:
The invention provides a composition comprising particles of an optionally halogenated phthalocynine (a); from 0.5 to 10% weight, preferably from 2 to 8% by weight, based on the optionally halogenated phthalocyanine (a), or a vinylic or acrylic polymer (b); and from 1 to 15% by weight, preferably from 3 to 10% by weight, based on the optionally halogenated phthalocyanine (a), of an optionally halogenated phthalocyanine (c) which is outside the particles of the optionally halogenated phthalocyanine (a) and is substituted by a group comprising at least 1 hetero atom selected from the group consisting of N, O, S and P and at least 3 carbon atoms. The instant compositions comprising three essential components are surprisingly warpfree in substrate such as partially crystalline plastics, especially those processed by injection moulding. Geometrically identical parts of different colours are obtained.

Abstract:
Systems, apparatuses and methods are described for assembling items made of fabric and other sheet materials such as plastics, fur, artificial fur, canvas, etc. In particular, the invention relates to forming plush replicas of plants, artificial plants, animals, mythical creatures, mascots and the like. For example, squares or other shapes are assembled into square pillows; pillows are assembled into triplets or other groupings; and the groupings are assembled into a larger item. A Grouping or assembly of pockets can be installed or mounted onto a stem or post. Replicas may include forms of Cannabis sativa, Cannabis indica, Christmas trees, wreaths, poinsettias, foxes, owls, whales, and the like.
Abstract:
The invention pertains to a novel, simpler dry-milling method for comminuting crude pigments (especially crude phthalocyanines) for use in publication gravure and packaging inks, wherein the crude pigment is dry-milled at relatively low temperature in combination with a resin and a pigment derivative, preferably further together with an extender and optionally an antioxidant. The invention also pertains to the thus obtained, new compositions, which are extraordinarily easily dispersible in aromatic solvents, and their use for the preparation of publication gravure or packaging inks or ink concentrates. Pigment dispersions obtained from the preferred compositions are also claimed.
Abstract:
A process for preparing pigment concentrates is provided which comprises dispersing a dry pigment in a radiation polymerizable (curable) ethylenically-unsaturated compound. The concentrates to which optionally photoinitiators are added can be used for preparing radiation, preferably ultraviolet radiation, curable printing inks, paints or other coating compositions which in turn are applied in printing processes or in the painting or coating of substrates. The performance enhancement of the cured pigmented inks/paints/coatings include e.g. good tinctorial strength and gloss, as well as surface hardness, good adhesion to substrate and chemical and corrosion resistance.
