Abstract: A device (100) for determining orientation of an object (101) is disclosed. The device (100) comprises of a housing (1) configured with a plurality of sensors (4), wherein the plurality of sensors (4) are provided on a surface of the housing. At least one light source (2), is fixed within the housing (1), wherein the at least one light source is configured to emit a continuous light beam (3) on at least one of the plurality of sensors (4) at an initial position (IP) of the object (101). The speed of the continuous light beam emitted by the at least one light source is less than a speed of light. The continuous slow light beam (3) is configured to momentarily impinge on one or more of the plurality of sensors (4) in the same incident ray, when the object (101) is displaced to a displaced position (DP).

Further, at least one light source (8) is secured in the gimbal assembly (1) and the gimbal assembly (1) is configured to align the at least one light source (8) relative to orientation of the object (3) such that, the light emitted by the at least one light source (8) is incident on at least one sensor of the plurality of sensors (S1 . . . Sn), to determine orientation of the object (3).

Abstract: The present disclosure includes an accelerometer for determining acceleration of an object. The accelerometer includes an enclosure and an armature. The armature includes a hub and a plurality of arms, each defined with at least one roller at a free end. The roller contacts an inner surface of the enclosure, and at least one arm has an opaque roller. The armature displaces about at least one axis in response to acceleration of the object, and displaces the at least one arm to a predefined angular position between first and second positions. Sensors are embedded on an outer surface of the enclosure, and at least one light source illuminates the accelerometer such that opaque roller blocks light from reaching at least one sensor at the predefined angular position, indicative of the acceleration of the object.

Abstract: The present disclosure discloses a device (100) for determining orientation of an object. The device includes a hollow spherical member (101), which is filled with a fluid medium (109). A plurality of sensors (102) is positioned on a circumference of the hollow spherical member. Further, the device comprises a light source (104) fixed within the hollow spherical member, and a capsule (103) is disposed within the hollow spherical member. The capsule is configured to displace within the hollow spherical member and occupy uppermost point of the hollow spherical member. The capsule covers the one or more sensors at the corresponding uppermost point and, thus blocks impingement of light on to corresponding one or more sensors. The blocked one or more sensors activate or deactivate, and generate a feedback or input signal, which is received by a computing unit (107), to determine orientation of the object.

Abstract: The present disclosure discloses a device for determining orientation of an object. The device comprises a hollow spherical member. A plurality of sensors are positioned within a cavity defined by an inner surface and an outer surface of the hollow spherical member. Further, the device comprises a light source fixed within the hollow spherical member, and a solid sphere provided within the hollow spherical member. The solid spherical member is configured to displace within the hollow spherical member, pointing towards gravity and occupies lowermost position of the hollow spherical member, and thus blocks impingement of light on to corresponding one or more sensors at the lowermost position of the hollow spherical member. The blocked one or more sensors activate or deactivate, and generate a signal, which is received by a computing unit, to determine orientation of the object.
