Abstract:
The present invention relates to portable hose carts for handling and storage of flexible hoses, such as garden or air hoses. The cart is primarily constructed of plastic components having a centrally rotatable spool for winding of the flexible hose, an enclosure for supporting the spool, wheels at one end of the base of the enclosure, and a handle assembly for tilting the frame onto the wheels to facilitate moving the device. The handle assembly is telescoping mounted and includes a handle mounted near the top of the handle assembly. The spool is rotatable by either a direct current powered motor or a folding manual crank. Power from the electrical motor is transferred to the spool via an infinitely adjustable torque transfer assembly. When the cover is in the open position, the direct current motor is operationally locked out, and when the cover is rotated into the closed position, the direct current motor is operable. The device may further include a reciprocating guide assembly that operates during rotation of the spool to rewind the hose into a compact configuration.
Abstract:
A safety enclosure for a powered reel apparatus for use with an associated elongated flexible member. The reel is carried by and enclosed within the enclosure and is rotatable by a electric motor. The enclosure has left and right wall panels, front and rear wall panels extending between the left and right wall panels, and a cover. When one of the panels is in an open position, the motor is operationally locked out, and when one of the panels is rotated into a closed position, the motor is operable.
Abstract:
A tool for removing ice, snow and other debris from a vehicle or other surface has an extension handle with telescoping ends. On one end of the handle there is an oblong head carrying a broom on one surface and a squeegee on the opposite surface. The head is rotatably mounted on the handle to provide both a linear cleaning motion and an arcuate motion. On the other end of the handle is a bifurcated extension carrying a scraper and a toothed cutter.
Abstract:
An outdoor screen fence is made up of a series of molded panels with simulated paneling and lattice in relief bounded on each lateral side by a leg. Each leg has a plurality of brackets along the length thereof. The brackets on one leg are disposed intermediate the brackets on the other leg. Each of the brackets has an aperture therethrough for receiving a tubular fence post. In assembly, the brackets of different panels are aligned in an interspersed relationship and a fence post with a removable impact cap is inserted through the apertures and driven into a support surface such that each leg is supported by at least two brackets.
Abstract:
A base assembly, including wheels, is attachable to the bottom of a hose reel enclosure. This assembly enables the hose reel enclosure to pivot about a vertical axis. This pivotal movement of the hose reel enclosure permits a hose to be withdrawn from and wound back onto the hose reel in the enclosure while remaining substantially perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the hose reel. This also enables a hose to be taken up evenly onto the hose reel and played out from the hose reel without tipping over the hose reel enclosure. In one embodiment, the base assembly is attached to the bottom of a hose reel enclosure. Two wheels are mounted at one end portion of the assembly and a stake is positioned in a member mounted between the end portions of the base assembly. The stake is driven into the ground below the hose reel enclosure. The wheels enable the hose reel enclosure to be pivoted along the ground about the stake to enable a hose to be evenly taken up onto the hose reel and played out from the hose reel without tipping the hose reel enclosure over. In another embodiment, the wheels and stake are mounted directly onto the hose reel enclosure.
Abstract:
A rotatable base apparatus for use with a hose reel enclosure. The base comprises an upper and a lower portion. A bearing is located in between the upper and lower portions and allows the portions to rotate with respect to each other. The bearing can comprise balls mounted in sockets in the lower base portion which ride in a track in the upper base portion. Clips are provided on the upper base portion to secure the hose reel enclosure thereto. This arrangement allows the user to remove the hose from the reel in any direction without the danger of the hose reel enclosure tipping over. The hose reel enclosure will rotate to the direction in which the hose is being removed. It also allows the hose reel enclosure to rotate to the direction that the hose is being wound onto the reel. This prevents the hose from being unevenly wound onto the reel, i.e. piling up on one side of the reel.
