The image data of a partial or entire portion of an original are once stored in the memory and repeatedly read out, whereby a plurality of the same images can be formed on a plurality of portions of a copying sheet, and the number and direction of the images to be formed can be designated monitoring the display thereof.

摘要： A digital color copying machine including a mosaic monitor mode is disclosed. In the mosaic monitor mode, image data corresponding to a partial area of an original document is stored in a RAM. The image data is then read repeatedly from the RAM and a plurality of images of the partial area which have been subjected to different color adjustments are formed on a recording medium, so as to form a mosaic monitor image. The operator may then choose a desired color adjustment from the plurality of color adjusted images. Also, an operator may vary a parameter in the color adjustment process to obtain either greater or more minute color adjustments.

In the image forming apparatus and method, there are transformed supplied reference color image data into plural sample image data having color tones stepwisely different from each other by multiplying the reference color image data one by one by supplied plural color adjustment coefficients, and then, there are recorded plural sample images corresponding to the plural sample image data on a piece of recording paper. When the operator selects one of the plural sample images, a controller alters the supplied reference color image data into another reference color image data responsive to color adjustment coefficients of the selected one of the plural sample images.

摘要： An image processing apparatus for outputting an image by a printer or a display is provided, in which color reproducibility in the image output of plural pages becomes uniform. The apparatus comprises an image memory for memorizing image data of all pages of one output job that is given to an output device, decision portion for deciding whether the image data of all pages are data within a color reproduction range of the output device or not. A color compression process is performed for the image data of all pages uniformly only when it is decided that the image data of all pages are not data within the color reproduction range of the output device.

摘要： An image forming apparatus has a structure in which a toner image formed in an electrophotographic process is transferred from an intermediate transfer belt to a member to be transferred. The apparatus includes a secondary transfer roller that becomes a pressure contact state with respect to the intermediate transfer belt to make it perform a transfer process and can move between the pressure contact state and a separated state, and a press and separation driving device for driving the secondary transfer roller to become the pressure contact state and the separated state. The pressure contact state or the separated state of the secondary transfer roller is detected in accordance with a variation of an output of an IDC sensor for detecting a state of a bare surface of the intermediate transfer belt.
