摘要: A liquid discharge apparatus. Each of a plurality of first nozzle rows includes a plurality of nozzles disposed in a predetermined direction that discharge cyan or magenta liquid. Each of a plurality of second nozzle rows includes a plurality of nozzles disposed in the predetermined direction that discharge yellow liquid. The number of second nozzle rows is smaller than the number of first nozzle rows. The first nozzle rows form cyan or magenta dots at pixels on a medium. The second nozzle rows form yellow dots at pixels whose number is smaller than the number of pixels at which the first dots are formed.

摘要: A method for detecting defective liquid ejection includes: reading an image with a sensor, the image being formed on a medium on the basis of image data by ejecting liquid from a nozzle while relatively moving the nozzle in a direction of relative movement with respect to the medium; specifying a maximum pixel among pixels of read data continuously arrayed in rows in a direction intersecting the direction of the relative movement in the data read with the sensor, the maximum pixel having the maximum pixel value among pixels of the read data; selecting a selected pixel in the data read with the sensor, the selected pixel being included in a line constituted by a plurality of pixels including the maximum pixel arrayed in line in the direction of the relative movement; and detecting defective liquid ejection in the nozzle by comparing the selected pixel with the pixel of the image data corresponding to the selected pixel in the image data.

摘要: The technique of the present invention ensures output of an image subjected to image processing, which does not depend upon the output environment but reflects the color reproduction characteristics of a shooting device and the intention of a photographer in shooting. The process generates an image file that includes picture data generated by a digital still camera, as well as control data and output specification information attached thereto. The control data controls the details of image processing according to the color reproduction characteristics of the camera and the intention of the photographer in shooting. The output specification information specifies, for example, the address of a printing device used as an output resource, the type of printing paper used for printing, and the number of copies. The image file is transmitted to an image processing system on a network. The image processing system carries out image processing of the picture data based on the control data, generates an output file, and transmits the output file to an specified output device via the network. Even in the environment that can not perform image processing based on the control data, the arrangement of the invention ensures output of the image that has been subjected to such image processing.

摘要: A method for detecting a defective liquid ejection that includes a) reading, by means of a sensor, an image which is formed on a medium by nozzles ejecting a fluid onto the medium in accordance with image data while being moved relative to the medium in a relative movement direction, b) obtaining differences between pixel values of read data pixels continuously arranged in a row in a direction intersecting with the relative movement direction in data read by the sensor and pixel values of image data pixels corresponding to the read data pixels, and c) detecting a defective liquid ejection of the nozzle by comparing a maximum difference value at a point where the differences show a maximum value with a non-maximum difference value at a time when the differences do not show a maximum value.
