摘要: A rear wheel braking apparatus for a motorcycle wherein a rear fork with a rear wheel pivotally mounted on the rear end thereof is coupled to the frame of the motorcycle via a pivot shaft in a vertically swingable manner; a rear wheel drive device for coupling between the output shaft of an engine on the frame and the rear wheel is provided side by side with the rear fork; an anti-lock controlling unit for controlling the braking hydraulic pressure to be fed to the rear brake in response to the output from a built-in sensor is provided on the rear fork in the vicinity of the pivot shaft; and wherein the drive shaft of the sensor is coupled to the rear wheel drive device.

摘要: A brake device for vehicles comprises a master cylinder, a wheel brake adapted to be operated by the output hydraulic pressure from the master cylinder to apply a braking force to a wheel, and an antilock control unit, having therein an inertia type wheel angular deceleration sensor driven by the wheel through a transmission device and adapted for controlling the output hydraulic pressure from the master cylinder in accordance with the output of the sensor, the antilock control unit being carried on the support system for the wheel. Defined on one side of the wheel is a recess which is concave toward the other side of the wheel from the central rotational plane of the rim of the wheel, and the antilock control unit and transmission device are disposed in the recess.

摘要: An antilock brake device for vehicles including a sensor for sensing the possibility of wheel lock during braking by means of overrunning rotation of a flywheel interlocked with the wheel to produce an output and a hydraulic controller for reducing the braking hydraulic pressure of the wheel brake upon reception of the output from the sensor and increasing the braking hydraulic pressure when the output from the sensor is eliminated. The flywheel and a transmission for transmitting the rotation of the wheel to the flywheel are arranged in the hollow portion of a hub of the wheel. Transmission mechanisms are employed to separate components within the hub to further reduce the overall size of the system. A variety of embodiments also disclose cooperation between front and rear brakes to improve braking response and efficiency.

摘要: An anti-lock brake system employing an anti-lock control unit between a brake master cylinder and a front wheel brake. The brake system is applied to a damped telescopic front fork and includes an anti-dive device which operates to increase damping force upon application of braking force to the front brake. In a first embodiment, the anti-dive device operates from hydraulic pressure upstream of the anti-lock brake unit. In a second embodiment, reaction force to braking of the wheel is sensed and employed to actuate the anti-dive device.

摘要: A braking system employing an antilock device which has two brake actuating mechanisms responsive to input hydraulic pressure through the antilock device. Valves are provided in the control mechanism for a second brake actuating mechanism which provide hydraulic cylinders for controlling the brake mechanism. The hydraulic cylinder of such a valve is vented until the controlling hydraulic system reaches a minimum pressure level. This pressure level is determined to be above that of the residual pressure level of the antilock mechanism. In a first embodiment, direct hydraulic control is provided to the multiple brake actuating mechanisms. In the second preferred embodiment, the reaction force to braking of the first brake actuating mechanism controls the brake pressure through a second master cylinder to the second brake actuating mechanism.
