Abstract: An article of manufacture, comprising, an artifact formed from at least a portion of at least one continuous artifact fiber, the artifact fiber dyed by a first digitally controlled dyeing process to exhibit a visible first color section and a visible color gradient section transitioning from and visibly distinguishable from the first color section; and, a textile portion, comprising at least one dyed fiber that has been dyed by a second digitally controlled dyeing process; wherein said artifact fiber is dyed by the first dyeing process applying metadata, said metadata relating to at least said first color, and wherein said textile portion fiber is dyed at least said first color by the second dyeing process applying said metadata.

Abstract: A color detection system, comprising: a card having printed thereon a color chart comprising multiple colored areas, and at least one grayscale area; a camera configured to acquire an image comprising a pixel representation a sample positioned adjacent to the card; a storage device configured to store reference data corresponding to the color chart and the at least one grayscale area; and a processor configured to: perform a grayscale correction to the pixel representation of the color chart and sample using a grayscale correction transformation between the pixel representation the grayscale area and the corresponding reference data, estimate colorimetric coordinates for the sample by applying to the respective grayscale corrected pixel representation, a transformation between the grayscale corrected pixel representation of the color chart and the corresponding colorimetric reference data, and convert the estimated colorimetric coordinates for the sample to RGB.

Abstract: A system, a method and a machine for treating threads or parts thereof, the machine having one or more cartridges each configured for containing thread treatment-material therein; one or more injectors, each injector being configured for applying treatment-material from its respective cartridge over a passing portion of the thread; drive means for operating the one or more injectors; and a communication and control unit for receiving treatment plan data indicative of at least one machine readable treatment related parameter associated with at least one treatment effect for each thread portion to be treated for controlling the treatment effect of each passing thread portion, according to the received treatment plan data. A designated application of the system may be used having a unique user interface allowing creating treatment plans.

Abstract: A method for calibrating a dyeing machine, comprising: for each of multiple colors: performing a maximizing stage to determine an effective maximum ink dispensing rate corresponding to an effective maximum colorimetric value for the dyeing machine; performing a linearizing stage, comprising: determining multiple ink dispensing rates for performing the linearizing stage by dividing the effective maximum ink dispensing rate into multiple intervals, calculating from the effective maximum colorimetric value, a linear correspondence between the multiple ink dispensing rates and multiple calculated colorimetric values, dyeing a set of substrates according to the multiple ink dispensing rates, acquiring color values of the dyed set of substrates, interpolating a non-linear correspondence between the multiple ink dispensing rates and the acquired color values, and mapping the linear correspondence to the non-linear correspondence.
