Abstract: The invention relates to a hoodpin actuator for securing the hood of a vehicle. The vehicle includes a vehicle body, a hood for covering an engine bay and the batteries placed under the vehicle, and a hoodpin actuator configured for securing the hood to the vehicle body. The hoodpin actuator includes a head coupled to the hood, a base coupled to the vehicle body. Further, the hoodpin actuator includes an internal hydraulic to protrude the head away from the base to move the hood relative to the vehicle body.
