Abstract: The elimination or reduction of broken glass cords in pneumatic tires is accomplished by using cords with tensile efficiency greater than 75 percent and a twist product within the range of zero to 0.300 turns. Tensile efficiency is a ratio of the inrubber tensile strength of the cord to its theoretical, calculated tensile strength.
