Abstract:
A permeate adapter is provided. The permeate adapter may be used within a pressure vessel. The permeate adapter includes a front portion and an oppositely disposed back portion. The front portion includes a permeate opening for receiving an end of a permeate passage tube of a membrane cartridge and for being in fluid communication with a permeate reservoir. The front portion and the back portion each include one or more fluid openings. Fluid passageways are connected between the one or more front portion fluid openings and the back portion fluid openings. The fluid passageways receive an end of a membrane cartridge at the front portion. At the back portion, the fluid passageways are in fluid communication with a fluid reservoir adjacent the back portion of the permeate adapter.
Abstract:
Processes and apparatuses for adsorbing a species from a feed stream and regenerating adsorbent. A species from a feed stream is adsorbed in an adsorption zone with an adsorbent to provide a species lean stream and a species enriched adsorbent. In a regeneration zone disposed above the adsorption zone, the species from the species enriched adsorbent is desorbed with a regeneration gas to provide a regenerated adsorbent and a spent regeneration gas. A portion of the species lean stream is used as the regeneration gas.
Abstract:
A system for radial flow contact of a reactant stream with catalyst particles includes a reactor vessel and a catalyst retainer disposed in the reactor vessel, the catalyst retainer including an inner particle retention device and an outer particle retention device, the inner particle retention device and the outer particle retention device being spaced apart to define a catalyst retaining space of the catalyst retainer, the inner particle retention device defining an axial flow path of the reactor vessel, the outer particle retention device and an inner surface of a wall of the reactor vessel defining an annular flow path of the reactor vessel. The system further includes an inlet nozzle positioned along a side of the reactor vessel and having an exit opening in fluid communication with the annular flow path of the vessel and an outlet nozzle in fluid communication with the axial flow path.
