Abstract: A temperature sensor for sensing the temperature of air moving at low velocity including a transducer assembly having a temperature transducer element in association with a shield or case capable of having fast response and a high degree of accuracy at a specified temperature. The temperature transducer element includes a bobbin of plastic film over which wire sensitive to temperature is wound. A cover is provided over the wire, also of plastic film, and is bonded to the wire as is the bobbin to provide a stable assembly capable of withstanding severe shock and vibration. The invention also includes a method of making a temperature transducer assembly and in mounting it within a shield or case to avoid contamination with the air, while not sacrificing performance.
