    Abstract: An exemplary method includes a monitoring system identifying a time period during which a vehicle equipped with a tracking device travels at least a threshold distance, determining that the tracking device fails to acquire a desired signal for a predetermined amount of time during the time period, and determining, based on the determining that the tracking device fails to acquire the desired signal for the predetermined amount of time during the time period, that the tracking device is potentially being interfered with during the time period. The method may also include sending, by the vehicle system interface device and in response to receiving the second signal, a third signal to a camera configured to capture video data associated with objects located at least one of behind or to the side of the vehicle and transmitting video data by the camera, in response to receiving the third signal. The method further includes receiving, by the mobile device, the video data transmitted by the camera and automatically displaying, by the mobile device, the received video data.
