摘要： A method for establishing a media for communications in association with a location information service provided in association with a communication system is disclosed. In the method a user equipment is provided with information enabling the user equipment to communicate on a user plane connection with at least one location service entity when the user equipment is visiting a communication network other than a home network of the user equipment. 摘要： A method of providing information regarding the location of a mobile user equipment (1) in a system wherein the location is determined based on information signalled from entities (10) of a positioning system and assistance data signalled from a station (5) of a communication system. In the method the likely location of the mobile user equipment relative to the station is first determined. Based on the determined likely location, an estimate of the delay in transmitting a signal from the station to the mobile user equipment is estimated. Assistance data is then signalled from the station to the mobile user equipment, said assistance data comprising information about the timing of the positioning system. A more accurate location determination is accomplished at the user equipment based on signals from the entities of the positioning system, the assistance data and said estimated delay.

摘要： In a method in association with a communication system a request for a connection is signaled between a user equipment and another party. The requested connection is then analyzed. Subsequent to detection that location information is required in association with the requested connection, a process for determining information about the location of the user equipment is activated. First information in association with the determining process is communicated on a control plane between the user equipment and the communication system, while second information in association with the determining process is communicated on a user plane between the user equipment and the communication system. An arrangement in association with location services and a user equipment capable of providing location information is also disclosed.

摘要： A method, apparatus and computer program product are provided that enable a method for providing location information to be selected based upon a determination, such as a minimization, of the consumption of location server resources that will be consumed by the method. The method, apparatus and computer program product may determine a selected location method from a set of location methods based on predetermined selection criteria. Specifically, the selected location method may be selected to meet a location accuracy requirement specified in a request for location information while consuming a determinable, such as a minimum, amount of resources. The predetermined selection criteria may be updated over time such that method, apparatus and computer program product are self-learning.

摘要： A mobile access network server for supporting location position services comprising: receiving means arranged to receive at least one location request message; and transmitting means arranged to transmit a first message to a location server based on the received location request message and to transmit a second message to at least one mobile device based on the received location request message.
