Abstract: An antifriction high temperature composite is formed of a metal or other support or substrate and a cast thin lubricating film. The thin film has a plastic matrix containing a multiplicity of dispersed small discrete solid lubricant filler particles. The plastic is either an aromatic polyamide-imide or an aromatic polyimide and the filler is a finely divided solid lubricant such as MoS2.
