Abstract: Conductors which are subjected to abrasion at elevated temperatures, such as certain motor or generator windings, are protected against the abrasion by an acrylic rubber coating. A flowable dispersion in an organic solvent of an acrylic rubber, a curing system for the acrylic rubber, and a filler is prepared and applied to the conductor. The solvent is evaporated and the acrylic rubber is cured to form the protective coating.
