Abstract: A method is provided for adjusting the resonance frequency of a resonance circuit included in an electronic pen. The method uses adjusting means for adjusting the capacitance of an internal capacitor array and measuring means for measuring an alternating magnetic field generated by the resonance circuit. The method includes (1) a step of changing the state of a predetermined portion of multiple capacitive elements constituting the internal capacitor array, and (2) a step of changing, according to reference resonance frequency variations of the resonance circuit before and after the state change, the state of a portion or all of at least one capacitive element constituting the inner capacitor array other than said predetermined portion of the capacitive elements.

Abstract: A work step of electrical connection between a writing pressure detector and a circuit element of a circuit is reduced. An electronic pen includes a writing pressure detector that detects a pressure applied to a core body disposed on one end side of a tubular chassis in the axial center direction, a circuit board for which a flexible substrate formed into a shape allowed to extend in the axial center direction is used in the chassis, and a holder housed in the chassis in such a manner as to hold the writing pressure detector and the circuit board and extend in the axial center direction. In the circuit board, a writing pressure detector placement part, a circuit placement part at which a predetermined circuit is formed, and a line part at which a line pattern that electrically connects a component of the writing pressure detector placed on the writing pressure detector placement part and a circuit element of the circuit placement part is formed are formed to line up in the axial center direction. The writing pressure detector placement part of the circuit board is held by the holder in the state of being along a direction perpendicular to the axial center direction in such a manner that the writing pressure detector can receive a pressure in the axial center direction applied to the core body through bending of the flexible substrate at a part of the line part.

Abstract: A position indicator includes a first resonance circuit including an inductor and a capacitor, a second resonance circuit including the first resonance circuit and a variation device configured to vary a resonance frequency or a phase of the second resonance circuit in response to an act of a user, and a switch circuit configured to perform changeover between the first resonance circuit and the second resonance circuit. The switch circuit is changed over such that, when no signal is received from outside of the position indicator and when a signal other than a predetermined signal is received from outside of the position indicator, the second resonance circuit is selected, and when the predetermined signal is received from outside of the position indicator, the first resonance circuit is selected, and the selected resonance circuit is configured to electromagnetically couple with a conductor of a sensor of the position detection apparatus.

Abstract: A magnetic core coil has a core formed of a magnetic material, a coil wound around the core, and two terminals formed of a conductive material. The two terminals are fixed to the core, and first portions of the two terminals extend from one end of the core in an axial direction of the core. A first end and a second end of the coil are electrically connected to the first portions of the two terminals which protrude from the one end of the core in the axial direction of the core. The magnetic core coil can be made small in thickness (radial size) and size, and can be produced in a reduced number of production steps and at low cost.

Abstract: A position indicator includes a tubular chassis in which an opening is made on one end in an axial direction as a pen tip side and another end. A position indicator cartridge is housed in a hollow part of the chassis. The position indicator cartridge includes a core body unit having a coil that forms part of a resonant circuit that is wound partly around a bar-shaped magnetic core, part of the magnetic core around which the coil is not wound forming a pen tip part, and a tubular body unit that houses at least a capacitor that forms part of the resonant circuit. A change circuit also forms part of the resonant circuit and is configured to change a resonant frequency or a phase of the resonant circuit according to a writing pressure applied to the core body unit.

Abstract: An electronic erasing device includes a casing, an erasing portion slidably attached to the casing and having a bottom surface and a side surface that extends from an outer edge of the bottom surface, both the bottom surface and at least a part of the side surface protruding from an end of the casing, and a position indicator including a core body and a pressure detector that detects a pressure applied to the core body, the position indicator outputting a position indication signal indicating an erasure position indicated by the core body and information indicating the pressure. The position indicator is included in the erasing portion and fixed inside the casing such that a tip portion of the core body is positioned away from an outer side of the bottom surface of the erasing portion and the applied pressure is transmitted to the core body.
